Wealth of beams, a huge log burner providing solid fuel heating via back boiler, Hi Speed internet access included, easy access to Canterbury, Port of Dover & Channel Tunnel. The Cottage has been renovated to combine modern, antique furnishings & fittings of a superior & comfortable standard. Kitchen is extremely well fitted out for those who love cooking. Lots of walks and entertainment venues locally for both children and adults. Country setting with open fields to the rear and easy access to local amenities, pubs etc. Approximately five miles from the Cathedral City of Canterbury, 17 miles from the Port of Dover, 12 miles from the Channel Tunnel and 18 miles from Ashford International High Speed rail link. London is approximately 65 miles away and easily accessible via motorway or high speed rail from Ashford or Canterbury East Station or Canterbury West Station. Please note, IMPORTANT....the heating is via a multi-fuel stove with a back boiler linked into radiators. The fire can be used just to heat the living room, or with the pump turned on, to heat the whole house. Unlimited logs, coal and kindling are included within your price to stay. Back to Basics for the Cave Person within you!! 😊... We are ALWAYS, and happily available on the end of the phone or via messaging to ‘talk you through’ the process if necessary 😊. The Underfloor heating is damaged and NOT to be used and switches are taped over for this reason (there are good reasons for this) Entire property and garden. Room to park three cars on driveway, but gate can be opened to allow at least two more cars on shingled area for light and small vehicles only due to underground drainage. Garden has been secured for pets with an additional fencing section and gate between rear and front garden for extra security. Front door only usually used by postman, Entry via the rear drive and patio. There are also two sets of folding mesh panels there to provide extra security to rear of gate act for those with small dogs. Please note that the Gardener comes to cut grass and do routine maintenance on Fridays each week for a couple of hours. Usually at about four in he afternoon subject to weather conditions. Please advise at the time of booking if this is inconvenient. Canterbury West Railway Station, easy access to London 5.5 miles Canterbury East Railway Station, easy access to London 4.8 miles Sandwich Golf club 18 miles, excellent facilities, Highly recommend Chestfield Golf Club, oldest Club House in the country, 11 miles, .. Superb!! Herne Bay, great for beach, fish n' chips, family fun, 13.6 miles Whitstable, 10.4 miles, great beach, dining, small family shops and do check out the harbour! Morrelli's Gelato, Broadstairs, CT10 1QS, 24 miles, not to be missed!! Best ice cream in the world! Folkestone, 15 miles, lovely harbour walk, seafood stalls and boats Margate, 25 miles, great beach and many other attractions Dover, 16 miles, take your passport and do a day trip to France to get some bargains Tenterden, Kent & East Sussex Railwalway, 30 miles, great steam train trip, lots of friendly local shops Elham Vinyard, 8 miles, a trust with a cafe, vinyard, garden centre, pottery and woodworks. Excellent! Local pubs, all doing excellent food, The Granville, Lower Hardres, 2.3 miles, The Hop Pocket, Bossingham 2.3miles, The Duck Inn, Pett Bottom, 1.9 miles. The Compasses, Waltham, 3.9 miles. All serve Real Ales and do excellent food at reasonable prices. There is also Thompson Nursery just half a mile down the road towards Canterbury providing excellent plants, pots, BBQ stuff etc. A farm shop at Lower Hardres (turn right just before the Granville pub) providing a good selection of vegetables, salads, cheeses, milk and dairy products, wine and butchery. Highly recommended. Car essential or use local taxi firms:- suggested numbers Canterbury City Taxi's (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) On Time Cars (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Toilet paper, dishwasher tablets, washing machine tablets (one per day for each stay) and liquid soap provided. Guests are also welcome to use other supplies left within the property including soap, salt, pepper, tea, coffee, drinks, foodstuff etc. when they are there and available. Kindling, firefighters, matches and logs will also be provided for the main fire. Guests are requested to hand wash the bone China, crystal glasses and antique copper pans if used, everything else should go in dishwasher. Oak sideboard in living room contains a selection of DVD,s games and puzzles suitable for all ages. There is also a leaflet board in the dining room providing information for local attractions. There are also some scented wax melts and burners complete with tea light candles for you to use if you wish. Please also refer to House Rules prior to booking, particularly if you intend bringing your pet. IMPORTANT.... Due to previous problems, WE DO NOT ACCEPT CATS OR YOUNG PUPPIES UNLESS CAGED..... please message to discuss for any exceptions Please also note that there is potential for noise from the road to the front of the property. Although it is a B road, it can become busy during rush hour and if the channel tunnel and/or Port of Dover are closed for some reason as traffic will divert across from the M20 to the A2. Pre packed foam ear plugs are provided in the bedroom that is most impacted by this in case required.
