Greenway Lodge on the Cotswolds Way

Greenway Lodge is a unique 3 bedroomed house right on the edge of Cleeve Hill Common, half way between Cheltenham and Winchcombe, near Cheltenham racecourse and within walking distance of a pub. Previously a Victorian Golf Clubhouse, and then the Cleeve Hill Youth Hostel, Greenway Lodge makes a great base from which to explore the North Cotswolds and enjoy the restaurants, shopping, racing and festivals in Cheltenham. The house has an open plan kitchen and living room with fantastic views onto Cleeve Hill and across to the Malverns. It has two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, and a twin room and shower room on the ground floor. It was newly furnished in 2018 and is equipped with wifi, TV, DVD Player, there is space for parking for two cars. Dogs are welcome. We live next door so are usually on hand to greet our guests, answer questions about the local area and sort out any (rare!) problems. You can step straight from Greenway Lodge onto Cleeve Hill, a few more steps takes you to the Cotswold Way. Looking out the other way, you get an amazing view of the Malvern Hills. You'll get that holiday feeling straight away, and are only a ten minute drive to Cheltenham for fabulous restaurants, shopping and of course the Festivals. Cheltenham Racecourse is just 2 miles away, just about walking distance! There is a great pub a 5 minute walk away, serving local beers and good pub grub. The traditional Cotswold village of Winchcombe is 3 miles away, for cosy pubs, gifts and coffee shops. A fantastic location for walking and mountain biking, there are trains from Cheltenham (20mins drive), or Kingham (40 mins drive). A bus service (W1 & 606) between Cheltenham and Winchcombe stops near the house. It is advisable to have a car to get around. During the Covid-19 pandemic we are taking extra care with our cleaning, leaving longer between guests, and doing an extra disinfectant wipe-down of surfaces. If you test positive for Covid during your stay or need to self isolate, we ask that you inform us and you can either return home, or you can choose to stay if your booking is long enough. Babies are catered for, with travel cot, high chair and stair gate. All linen and towels are supplied, and we furnish the house with starter-packs of tea, coffee, toilet paper, dishwasher and washing-machine detergent, so you don't have to rush out shopping the minute you arrive.
