The Ettrick is a first floor flat contained in the tasteful conversion of the Coach House and Stable block of our Grade A Listed 18th Century mansion house, The Haining. The flat, which has a 4 star rating from Visit Scotland, provides a luxury getaway on our beautiful tranquil estate. The main rooms have stunning views over the loch. The large open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge has an open fire place with logs provided. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need and the clean, comfortable bedrooms offer a luxurious nights sleep. The beds can be arranged as 4 singles (2 in each room) or as two king size beds. The modern fitted bathroom has a shower over the bathe and the flat benefits from gas central heating ensuring a warm cosy welcome whatever the time of year. Our 61 acre estate offers beautiful walks and visitors are free to roam the estate and enjoy the vast amount of wildlife that can be seen. Well behaved dogs are welcome to visit with their owners and will enjoy the freedom of walking off the lead around the estate. The Haining estate is steeped in history dating back to the 12th century and is now managed by The Haining Charitable Trust after it was bequeathed to the people of Selkirkshire by its last owner Andrew Nimmo-Smith. One of its unusual features is that the estate is directly linked to the town and you can walk to Selkirk town centre in less than 10 minutes from the flat which gives you access to the shops, resturants and the pub as well as main bus services. The flat is equipped with lots of information on places to visit with attractions such as Bowhill (home of the Duke of Buccleuch, Abbotsford (Walter Scott's home) and Melrose Abbey only a short drive away. But for those who enjoy the outdoor life an abundance of beautiful walks, cycle routes, horse riding and fishing are all on the doorstep of this beautiful estate.
