The Cwtch is an annexe adjoining our self build stone property, that is set surrounded by beautiful countryside, that is within easy access to The Brecon Beacons and World Heritage site Blaenavon etc. The property is centrally heated and well equipped kitchen. The property is accessed through the light and airy conservatory adjoining the kitchen. The Cwtch at Golwg y Mynydd situated on the Coety Mountain is a cozy annexe adjoining our self built home. The Cwtch is surrounded by beautiful walks at the nearby Cwmtillery Lakes and Cwmtillery reservoir. You are 3 minutes from Abertillery by car with all the usual facilities and only 10-15 minutes by car to the train station at Llanhilleth that will take you to the capital of Wales "Cardiff". The World Heritage Site of Blaenavon and “The Big Pit " and the cottages that were featured on the BBC program "The Coal House" can be accessed via a long walk over the Coety Mountain (see images) or by car. You are within easy reach of the Brecon Beacons and and the market town of Abergavenny. The Cwtch boasts a double bedroom with en- suite, a lounge with dining table, a fully fitted kitchen, and conservatory. There is also a bed-settee in the lounge that will sleep 1 adult or 2 children and a sofa stool that sleeps one. Single airbeds and camp bed is available on request. There is a private patio complete with seating which is perfect for watching the sun set below Mynydd James is the ideal way to finish your day. There are wide steps to the entrance of the property that leads into the conservatory. There is then a step into the kitchen. The rest of the property is on one level. The Cwtch has it's own entrance so you have complete privacy to come and go as you please. Parking is directly outside the property on the quiet lane that leads to a cul de sac (no through traffic). We will greet you when you arrive and show you around then you will be left to enjoy your privacy and the rest of your stay. Cwmtillery Lake i (Website hidden by Airbnb) minute walk from the property, set in the base of the valley that is surrounded by stunning views and walks of the Coety Mountain and Mynydd James. Cwmtillery is an ex mining village the nearest shops and public houses are in the town of Abertillery is 3 minutes by car or 15-20 minute walk. In the neighbouring village of Six Bells you can visit “The Guardian” which is a monument to the miners that were killed in the Six Bells colliery disaster in 1960, it is a spectacular piece of art and well worth a visit. Abertillery is also an ex mining town with a range of small shops, hairdressers etc. and public houses including a Wetherspoons pub The Pontlottyn serves food all day. The is also a large Tesco store with garage on the outskirts of the town where you can purchase most things. A car is recommended, however there is public transport to the town of Abertillery just a two minute walk away. We are situated just off the A465 Abertillery which leads from the M4 motorway at Newport to the south and the A470 Heads of the Valley to the North. There are a number of taxi companies in the area. There will be complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, milk, biscuits etc. The is a washer, dryer, iron and ironing board available. There is a table and bureau ideal for using a laptop. A very friendly dog called Blake lives with us
