Wester Dron Farmhouse is approached via a private driveway leading to ample private parking outside the property itself. The property can be accessed either from the side door where cars are parked or the front door. GROUND FLOOR Front entrance leading to large welcoming hallway (with stairs to first floor) DINING ROOM - Table to seat 8, feature fireplace with gas coal effect fire, door leading out to decking with patio furniture to relax after your meal. Each bedroom is tastefully decorated and has en-suite shower facilities, TV and plenty of storage areas. * *Please note there are no baths on the property ** BEDROOM (1) Super king zip & link bed (can be split to make twin room), window overlooking garden at rear) includes en-suite shower, toilet and sink. WC and UTILITY ROOM - ideal for golfers or large families equipped with washing machine, tumble drier, heated towel rail, ironing board, drying screen and w/c. OPEN PLAN LARGE KITCHEN/LIVING AREA - exceptionally well equipped kitchen with all mod cons, designed for social cooks, open plan to one of the two living areas. SITTING ROOM/SNUG ROOM- open plan to kitchen with corner sofa, recliner and large TV with DVD player. From the kitchen, a door leads through to the extension and side entrance to house. CONSERVATORY/SUNROOM/SECOND SITTING ROOM - a truly fantastic space with bi-fold doors opening it right up to the outside on sunny days - plenty of comfy sofas to lounge on and huge wall mounted TV. BEDROOM (2) - Double bed, plenty of storage. En-suite shower, toilet and sink. FIRST FLOOR BEDROOM (3) - "Thistle" room - dual aspect windows with countryside view, super king zip & link bed (can be split to make twin room) En-suite shower, toilet and sink. BEDROOM (4) "Orchid" room - two single beds and futon. View on the left from the dual aspect window of the sea at St Andrews! En-suite shower, toilet and sink. EXTRAS Complementary tea, coffee, sugar and milk supplied. Towels supplied however please bring own toiletries. High chair, travel cot and foldable baby bath available on request. On departure, it is much appreciated if used bedding & towels are placed in black bags provided. OUTSIDE The farmhouse is situated on what used to be a working dairy farm, therefore outside space is ample. There are several large areas of grassy garden and field areas for children to play safely. There is also decking/patio areas to enjoy the countryside views and relax. There is ample space for parking several vehicles outside the farmhouse. Taxi details are available in the house manual. Bus timetables to St Andrews and Dundee are found at the bus stop on Main Street. Airport transfers available on request at an extra charge. Meet and greet and host at times on-site should there be any queries during your stay. Key box entry- code advised in advance. Arrival 4pm onwards (advise host if later arrival expected) Departure by 10am. The village of Dairsie has a play park, petrol station and mini-mart shop/Post office and also a church. Please note - The Dairsie Inn (Rumblethumps Restaurant) is currently closed. The Tavern at Strathkinness (on the hill road to St Andrews - the road you can see from the farmhouse) offers delicious food, along with delicious doughnuts & pizzas (CARRY OUT OPTION AVAILABLE) Thai Teak Restaurant (open Wednesday- Sunday 10am-4pm)before you reach Balmullo is an ideal spot for lunch and also within walking distance. The Clayton Caravan Park with bar and restaurant situated within walking distance also offers a new leisure centre available for gym and swim. There is also a soft play area and Summer 2022 crazy golf will be opening. The Balgove Larder just outside St Andrews is a welcoming venue for eating at any time of the day and BBQ food available in the summer months. There are many attractions for children too with Cairnie Fruit Farm with play area near Cupar and the beautiful sandy beaches and walks at Tentsmuir Forest near Leuchars. 11 miles takes you over the Tay Bridge to the city of Dundee where the new V&A museum exudes by the River Tay. And of course the famous town of St Andrews is also on your doorstep! What more can you ask for - an all round great holiday destination. Bus stops in Dairsie for onward travel to St Andrews, Dundee etc (timetables at bus stops) Leuchars and Cupar are the nearest railway stations. Various walking routes in the area from 4 miles to 12 miles or more with many woodland walks, waterfalls and streams.
