Ample parking and an Electric Vehicle (Pod Point) charging facility. The holiday let has a bright and airy feel during the day, and is a warm cosy place for relaxation in the evening. Comfortable seating around the large TV, as well as a variety of board games and local information books provide a great place to sit with the family. There is a no smoking policy within the holiday let. A large lawn with sheltered, heated summer house is the perfect place to rest and unwind after a day enjoying everything Alva and the surrounding areas have to offer. The attached kitchen is modern and well equipped, providing a quick and easy place to prepare meals, or enjoy a hassle free hot drink from the coffee machine. The garden seating area with a view of the hills includes a firepit to enhance your evening. We provide a private and undisturbed stay for guests being pleased to welcome you on arrival and happy to offer any advice or information you may need at any point during your stay. The let is attached to the main house and there is normally someone at home who may be available to help with anything, including British Sign Language (BSL) if needed. The local people are both friendly and helpful and will greet you with a smile. There are a number of welcoming local businesses on the high street including sweet shops, cafes, restaurants and takeaways. Alva has plenty of local walks and there are two large dog friendly parks a short distance from the holiday let - Johnstone and Cochrane Park. Alva is an old silver mining and mill town, with it's history visible in places such as the glen and high street. The holiday let is just off the A91 running from Stirling to St Andrews and is also next to Cycle Route 768 on the Hillfoots Diamond Jubilee Way (The Kings Highway). Centrally located it is an excellent base, with the historic cities of Stirling, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth, and the fantastic Trossachs National Park all less than an hour away. Being set at the foot of the Ochil Hills it is a five minute walk from the local shops and transport links. Alva Glen, Alva Golf course, hill walking and cycling right out end of the cobbled drive with other activities available nearby. Bus services (Number 52) run to Stirling, Alloa and St Andrews. There is also a local taxi service available by booking. Please Note there is a no smoking policy within the holiday let and the summer house. Smokers can smoke at the garage area only. Please do not smoke.
