Osprey Cottage sits only 20 meters from the beach in the pretty coastal fishing village of Dunure, benefitting from: Lounge, kitchen, bathroom (no bath) & 3 bedrooms, bedroom 1 on the ground floor with a king-size bed, bedroom 2 is upstairs, with a double bed and a en-suite shower room. Bedroom 3 is open plan with stairs leading down to the living area please see photos), sleeps 5, private parking, unlimited Wi-Fi, log burner, oil central heating, sea and castle views. Pet friendly. A former fisherman’s dwelling with beautiful sea views from all rooms. The property, recently refurbished to a high standard and consisting of a cosy living room complete with log burner, 40” smart TV with free view. You can log into your Netflix, BBC iPlayer accounts etc. The modern kitchen has all the usual cooking facilities plus washing machine, dishwasher, microwave oven / grill. The main bathroom is off the hallway on the ground floor, please note there is no bath. Bedroom 1 also on the ground floor is quite impressive for a cottage bedroom, very spacious, high ceiling’s (as are all the ground floor ceiling’s) king size bed, ample hanging and storage space. 32” TV with built in DVD player. Can also accommodate either a travel cot (supplied) or a double air bed (children). A front vestibule has great hanging and footwear storage areas. A staircase from the living room leads to the loft space, on the left, bedroom 2, this en-suite bedroom consists of a double bed, 32” smart TV, hanging and drawer storage. Outstanding sea views to the Isle of Arran, a truly lovely cosy room. On the other side of the stairs is a smaller open plan bedroom with a single sofa bed with stairs leading down to the living area, again great Castle, Arran and sea views. To the rear of the property there is parking for two cars. To the front a patio area C/W with furniture to enjoy the tremendous views. Dunure’s has a lovely fishing harbour, a cafe, ice cream shop. The Anchorage Bar/Bistro is now re-opened after a recent full refurbishment. The ruins of Dunure Castle dominates the skyline, formally owned by the Kennedy Clan dating back to 1200s. A well stocked CO-OP is located in Alloway (4 miles) with an abundance of supermarket (6 miles) away in Ayr. For the serious shoppers, Glasgow is one hour away and can satisfy any retail/cultural therapy! Culzean Castle & Country Park is 4 miles to the south (Jewel in the Crown of the National Trust) and a must see! One of Scotland’s most famous sons, Robert Burns was born 4 miles away in Alloway, his family cottage, visitors centre, monument & Tam O’Shanter bridge well worth a visit. Golfing fans will have an array of courses to play Turnberry, Royal Troon, all within close driving reach! Ayrshire also boasts the ACP (Ayrshire Coastal Path) 100 miles along one of the finest panoramic coastlines in the British Isles. Crowned with a superb backdrop of the ever-changing profile of the mountains of Arran across the Firth of Clyde, this coastline is steeped in history and teeming with wildlife. Loads for those who love cycling, fishing, bird watching etc. Heads of Ayr Fun park, 2 miles along the coast offers a great day for the children with bumper boats, electric tractors, trampolines, quad biking, various animals & more. All apart from any locked cleaner storage cupboards Happy to answer any questions over the phone, text or email. We love Dunure as it’s location provides breath taking views over the Firth of Clyde to Isle of Arran. Every day brings a special view! Ideally a car is preferable. A regular bus service (361) operates from Dunure to Ayr (onward bus/train connections). Local taxi service. We leave a complimentary basket of logs, kindling and firelighters for your convenience, if you require any more logs please let us know prior to your arrival and we can arrange for additional bags to be left at a cost of £5 per bag. We keep extra bags of logs in the shed at the back of the cottage in the event you forget to pre order, there is a key in the kitchen cupboard above the kettle, alternatively you can pick them up locally at the Coop in Alloway or any of the major supermarkets in Ayr. Also two TV’s are smart TV’s and if you have a Netflix account etc please feel free to login with your details.
