The Stables @ Les Hirondelles adults exclusively

Here at Les Hirondelles, we cater exclusively for adults, who want tranquility and to experience rural France. The Stables is a beautifully converted barn with polished wood floors, open beams and stone walls. It is set on two floors, the downstairs having a large shower room (double shower) and a huge open-plan living dining area. There are double doors leading to an enclosed courtyard, tables & chairs and BBQ area. There are two bedrooms, one king-sized and a twin. The Stables offers a grand space for visitors wanting to get away from it all and experience the real rural France. The gardens are well stocked and maintained and benefit from being full enclosed and secluded. The pool is available for both gites on this site, The Stables and The Hayloft. If the other property is occupied at the same time as your visit, you will share the pool. However, it is plenty big enough and there are sunbeds and parasols for everyone. I live on site and will be available for most of the time to help. We are near the local market town of Aigre, with its weekly morning markets on Sunday and Thursday. The local town of Rouillac, a 15 min drive away, hosts a spectacular market on the 27th of every month. This takes over the entire town and sells everything from food to tools, clothes to livestock. Worth a visit. The nearby town of Angouleme is a 30min drive away with a large choice of bars, restaurants and shops. The historic town of Cognac is 30mins drive away and you can arrange visits to tour one of the many cognac houses and have a tasting session. The cities of La Rochelle and Bordeaux are a little further afield at 95minute drives. Well worth a visit. A car is essential whilst visiting and getting around day to day. There are guided cycle routes around the area, from leisure paced to those who are more experienced. Internet Access: As this is rural France our internet connection speed does not reflect the experience you could ordinarily expect at home. We have found that most mobile packages provide a faster connection speed. Therefore since the removal of EU data roaming charges we no longer offer an internet access facility on site. We hope to re-introduce this facility in the future when the national scheme to improve connection speeds is rolled out. The tv's have HDMI ports, should you wish to watch any previously downloaded material. The price shown is for 2 guests only. No infants, no ‘additional’ guests to be added later onto the booking, and no pets.
