Hudson Valley's own Walden Pond

The Pond House is a private residence overlooking a beautiful and maintained 1 acre pond. This is a perfect place to get away for any length of time. Located on the Hudson valley wine trail and only 1 mile from the charming village of Walden. Update: We have reviewed our recent guest feedback. A new mattress and box spring have been installed in the master bedroom as of 7-24-21. The Pond House is a picturesque and quiet getaway located in the heart of the historic Hudson Valley. Conveniently located just 70 minutes north of New York city, it is a great place to escape your crazy routine and truly relax. The space is equipped with comfortable amenities and is designed to help you maximize your time away. There is also a pool behind the cottage for your use. (Note, while the cottage is detached and has a private deck and porch space and is separate from the main residence, the pool and fire pit area are shared with my regular tenants.) Please note this is not a private house in the woods. This is a cottage located next to a house which is occupied by a family. They have use of the yard and pool and you may see them from time to time. They are very nice and helpful so don’t be afraid to ask if you need anything. NOTE: The house has about 8 stairs that lead up to the main entrance. If you have issues with climbing up stairs, you may want to reconsider booking this residence. Also, the house sits adjacent to a main road. While it is very picturesque and rustic, you will hear some vehicular noise during the day. Guests have access to the 1 acre stream fed pond, canoe, swimming pool and firepit all located on the property. There will be no disturbances to your experiences. However there is a host nearby to assist you should you need anything. As a note, there is a residence located next to the cottage which houses my very friendly and kind full time tenants. Please be respectful of their space and privacy. Again, this is a shared property so from time to time you will see other people. Walden NY is a quaint and historic village with many amenities. Walden marks the start of the Walkill Valley rail-trail and is also located on the Hudson Valley Wine trail. There are some excellent restaurants, local nightlife spots and historic locations all within a mile or two of the residence. Located nearby is world class rock climbing at The Trapps, the historic Mohonk Mountain House, Minnewaska state park and the bustling village of New Paltz. There is no mass transit. However Uber and Lyft are available. Check in time is after 2pm. Check out time is 11am. My cleaning service shows up promptly at 11:30 to make up the beds so please have the cottage swept out and be sure to leave it as you found it. The maximum number of people that can stay overnight at this property is 6. While you may invite people to visit during the day, the house is really not suitable for more than 6 guests. Violation of this policy will result in immediate termination of your reservation and will be reported to Airbnb. This maximum number of 6 people includes children. Thank you for your understanding.
