Gorgeous house huge cinema/bar/game room and pool

This historic house is in the middle of farmland with lovely far reaching countryside views all around it. Only 10 mins from TGV train station 1hr 37 to Paris. Perfectly placed for all that France has to offer. Surrounded by sunflowers , vineyards and the fabulous chateaux of the Loire. The house sits in two acres of grounds, separated from the valley and rolling farmland around by a stone wall that hugs the perimeter of the property. Within the walled garden are towering trees, home at night to hooting owls and by day to flocks of goldfinch that feast on fallen sunflower seeds the farmer has left behind at harvest time La Raintrie is furnished with a simple comforting aesthetic, a preference for wood, the craftsmen made and a restricted palette that allows your busy everyday mind to still and your eyes to drift to the window and the sky and scenery outside. There is original art work throughout the house and a high quality SONOS sound system with a speaker in all main living rooms a house DEEZER account and Alexa in the kitchen to keep the lone cook company. Comfort and convenience are a high priority here so there are large walk in showers and a roll top bath by the window in the bathrooms. On arrival you will find fresh flowers from the garden in your bedroom with the beds meticulously made up with White Company bed linen and towels.There is a nespresso coffee machine, USB socket and a quality hairdryer in all double (Website hidden by Airbnb) will be cold local wine, beer and soft drinks in the fridge behind the bar and comfy garden seating in sun and shade.There will be tea, coffee , milk, herbs, oil and spices in the kitchen as well as plentiful Sophie Conran crockery and cutlery, sharp knives and decent pots to cook in. On the first floor is a huge games/ cinema room with bar . The bar will be stocked with a starter pack of drinks to kick your relaxation off as soon as you arrive. At over 8 ft wide, the cinema screen and comfy seating area make for great at home entertainment. There is a huge DVD collection or use the house netflix account through the blu ray player. Whilst far from the madding crowd it is only 10 minutes to the beautiful riverside town of Chatellerault with pavement cafes and stylish shops. A fast train to Paris from here takes 1.37. The great chateaux of The Loire are all an easy distance as are the fabulous towns of Richelieu, Chinon, Poitiers, Tours and Saumur. The abundance and quality of local organic food makes this place truly a foodie heaven. If you like fresh food then you can pick or send willing foragers out to pick herbs and fresh organic vegetables warm from the sun in the garden. Andrew will go to the bakers on Sunday morning to fetch you fresh bread and croissants and there will be a pot of honey from bees in our own woodland to go with it. The baker delivers direct to the house on Monday and Thursday. The local organic farm shop opens Friday and Wednesday. I can send you their list and pre shop butter cheeses bread etc of your choice ready for when you arrive. ( Their butter is soo soo good...too good) Andrew and I live in the other farmhouse through an archway in the wall some 20 metres across the courtyard. We are quite hidden away but you can alwlays come and find us for anything. If you want to eat at home but not cook Jenni and Andrew can host a pizza party for you in our gardens with home made pizza cooked in the wood fired pizza oven cut into the rocks at the entrance to our caves. We can also host a local wine and cheese tasting evening in our ( well lit and high ceilinged ) beautifully cool extensive caves.( minimum 6 people) The house and gardens Friendly caretaker next door available for all help if needed. So many great things to do and see around here. All the hundreds of chateaux of the Loire valley. Beautiful Richelieu. Chatellerault is less than 10 mins away with a great market, TGV trains to Paris and Bordeaux,lots of shops and 10 screen cinema. The towns of Chinon, Tours Poitiers and Saumur are all less than an hour away. Futurescope is 25 minutes away. Saint Cyr lake with beach and watersports 25 mins away. Wine tastings at vineyards too numerous to mention. Buy organic bread, butter, milk and cheese etc only 2 mins away.The local baker delivers bread, croissants and cakes to the front door twice a week. Best to have a car. Plenty of space to park at the house.
