We are very country, although close to beaches (2 min drive down the road), wineries, rivers, galleries, cafes & restaurants, you can see the stars forever with stunning views in all directions. A great place to start or explore the area by bike or car. Enjoy outdoor bath area, BBQ area, shared kitchen & lounge area. A unique stay in a very beautiful part of New Zealand with just sheep and cows for your neighbors. We do not add a cleaning fee. Rabbit Island Huts (ensuite) are small spaces of luxury, they are built high to take in the views of the Mt Arthur ranges, Waimea Estuary and the Richmond Hills. Situated on 25 acres alongside Appleby House. Close to Rabbit Island - swimming beach, walking and cycling tracks, Rougt Island Equestrian park, rivers, wineries and Mapua for restaurants, galleries and cafes. A little bit hotel, little bit glamping and a little bit traditional kiwi camping. Outdoor fire and BBQ area Free wifi, parking, specialty teas & coffees and Appleby House homemade condiments. Your Hut has everything you need, gorgeous bed and linen, fridge, tea & coffee making facilities (TV optional) and bathroom. There is also a shared kitchen area and outdoor fire and BBQ area. October 2017 we will be have our shared lounge area (with shop) outdoor bath and shower ready plus our new Rabbit Island Glamping tent. We live onsite so happy to chat anytime, our reception area and shop area is open daily from 4pm to 7pm during summer. County - no neighbors that you can see. The sky goes forever, the stars shine brighter as they are not competing with any unnatural light. There is a river and beach just down the road. Mapua Wharf for dining and galleries is a 8 minute drive away. We are a couple of minutes bike ride off the Tasman Great Taste Trail. Walking, running, biking tracks. There is no public transport to our property. You will need to have a car or a bike. We do have a onsite shop though so you can come unprepared and purchase goodies or bring your own food and drink. The property houses Appleby House (boutique hotel style) with four rooms, Rabbit Island Huts with three ensuite Huts and three shared bathroom Huts, plus one glamping tent & Bell tent - suitable for 1 couple or family group travelling together. There is also a shared kitchen space and BBQ & fire area - great place to sit in the evening and take in the stunning surroundings. The owners Jane & John also reside on the property in a separate dwelling.
