Step back in time with Clementine! This 1964 Aristocrat Land Commander (a very big name for a tiny trailer!) is 13 feet long with a great interior layout that will afford you a taste of mid-century American style and innovation. Clementine’s interior has been lovingly restored with period-appropriate upholstery, vintage dishware & Arizona travel souvenirs. To add to the “camping” feel, there are roasting sticks and a campfire (as fire restrictions allow), games, song books, & a star chart. Logistics: I find 2 people (maybe 3 if two are small) sleep comfortably on two full-sized pull-out beds that serves as the couch and the table during the day. The gas stove is functional, there is electricity, and water to the interior sink works by hand pumping air into the tank for it to flow. Clementine has an ice box for which you would need to provide ice, so it may be easier to use the small guest refrigerator and microwave in the main house. You are welcome to bring your sleeping bag(s) for the camping feel or bedding will be provided. IMPORTANT NOTES: Clementine has no interior bathroom, so plan to walk 90 feet through gardens to a shared bathroom and shower in the main house. Because this is an older trailer, it is not insulated. I have a space heater, fan, and small window-unit air conditioner that guests have said were adequate in extreme temperatures, but personally I find it too hot to be in the trailer mid-day in summer, though usually do-able at night when the temperature cools. Please schedule your visit with awareness of the local weather forecast. No smoking is allowed anywhere on the property. This home welcomes people of all persuasions. In main house: bathroom, washer and dryer, small refrigerator and microwave, coffee maker. In gardens: seating and eating areas, bocce court, water features, BBQ, and fire pit. On street parking in front of host house. Host available as needed and excellent source of local information on eateries, shopping, hiking, history, and local not-to-be-missed attractions. Quiet residential neighborhood only a few minutes walk from restaurants, 1.5 blocks from the highway, and about 1/2 a mile from the historic downtown with shops, museums, bars, and our movie theater. Come delve into Old West history, shop, and explore the natural beauty of our high desert, mountains, rivers, and lakes. Very walkable city, free parking available throughout the town, and most things are just a few minutes drive. Because of the prominent water features, this house is not appropriate for toddlers or small children. Children 5-years-old and up are welcome if they can safely navigate around the water features. Additionally, if local fire restrictions are implemented, then no exterior fires will allowed in fireplace or fire pit (BBQ is still operational).
