"Ty Beti", grade II listed townhouse, Machynlleth
Ty Beti is a grade II listed town house dating from around 1840, originally built by the local aristocratic Londonderry family for their staff. Next door to the ancient Owain Glyndwr parliment, the house is within short walking distance to shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants, and the grounds of the Plas which includes a park and leisure centre. Machynlleth is an excellent base for outdoor activities, is a few miles from Snowdonia National Park and the coast. Recently renovated, this spacious 4-bedroom house has many original features and all the modern amenities you would expect. The ground floor has a shower room, utility with washing machine, dryer, microwave, fridge and dishwasher, kitchen dining area with gas range, opening to a living space with sofas, wood stove and smart TV with fibre broadband. We provide firewood. There are 4 spacious bedrooms on the first and second floors, the largest with superking bed, sofa bed, and additional smart TV. The bathroom has the original roll-top bath and a large walk-in shower. There is a large garden with seating area in the back, with several fruit trees. There is a lean-to to store bikes or other outdoor equipment securely. Gail and Huw live close to the house and will personally greet guests on arrival. Machynlleth train station is within walking distance, and is on the main Birmingham to Aberystwyth line. The north-west Gwynedd coast line also begins at Machynlleth. There are regular bus services. There are several stunning walks around Machynlleth, and if you can’t find the right way, Huw is happy to show you on a map – call him! There are also some excellent mountain bike routes. Most can be seen on Strava or Trailforks - again Huw is happy to share information on these. There is no private parking, but there is parking available opposite the house, or in a public car park across the way.
