An ideal romantic getaway or great for a small family. The 21 ft yurt is super spacious with all the comforts of home. A real flame bio-ethanol fire makes it super cosy along with electric heating. Set in a private, lush walled garden with outdoor kitchen. Our contemporary outbuildings house an additional indoor kitchen and a shower room with monsoon-style copper shower two flushing toilets. The yurt is warm and comfortable with a king size bed and sofa- bed, lots of electric power points and a real flamefire. Comfy rocking chairs, sofa, a dining table, vinyl collection & turntable, bluetooth, wi-fi. On the terrace there is a garden room with double bed and electric heaters. The fully equipped kitchens (outdoor and indoor) have a fridge-freezer & dishwasher; 2 x planchas, oven and hob. Bbq and pizza oven. The terrace boasts a hand-made table and hand woven swing-seat. There are plenty of areas to relax. Vegetarian/vegan. breakfasts are available by pre-order The Oakhill Inn, our favourite local, serves great food & is a 3-minute walk away. You may not want to leave this special spot but if you do there is plenty to see and do. The fantastic Newt gardens & Hauser & Wirth art gallery are both half an hours drive. We are even nearer to Wells, Bath, Frome, Glastonbury, Shepton Mallet, Longleat. We welcome children but there are natural hazards e.g. deep water, trip hazards, caves and 'cliff' edges on the private land. Young children will need close supervision in these areas. Walks from the door to ancient woodlands, bring your walking boots & your binoculars. We have compiled our favourite walking routes for you to explore. We are currently working to enhance the land for wild-life, plant trees and improve the woodland area. We have recently planted a swathe of oak trees, hazel & hornbeam to extend the woodland. There is private off-road parking. The whole garden is yours to enjoy. Guests from our other holiday lets have access to the ponds and lakeside walks. We give you your space but are to hand when needed. Oakhill is quiet and friendly with two great country pubs. The Oakhill Inn, our favourite local, serves great food & is a 3-minute walk away. This is an excellent location from which to discover Somerset and there are plenty of varied and interesting outdoor destinations for you to enjoy. Bring your walking boots & your binoculars and explore the Mendip Hills AONB. Climb Cheddar Gorge or walk up Glastonbury Tor. Walk from your tent to nearby lush woodlands. Medieval Wells is close by as is vibrant Frome. Georgian Bath a short journey. Visit the incredible gardens at 'The Newt in Somerset'. Bruton with Hauser & Wirth art gallery is well worth a visit and the Oudolf Field is currently open. Stourhead and other NT properties within a short journey. There are some amazing markets currently open; Shepton Mallet (Fridays), Wells (Weds) Easy seaside day trips to Jurassic coast or Brean Down Longleat, Stourhead, Bath, Wells, Frome, Bruton, the Mendip Hills. Climbing at Cheddar Gorge. Swimming and diving at Vobster Quay 10 mins, Bath and West showground 10 mins. Babington House, Chew Magna Lakes, Clarks Shopping Village all within half an hours drive. Bristol Airport under 40 mins. Send me a message with any questions you may have. Lots to explore by foot or cycle. Convenient for Bristol Airport, an easy 35 min drive away. Bath is a 25 mins drive away (or Odd Down Park and Ride 20 mins - useful for Christmas Market time). Bristol is an easy 35 mins away on the A37. Castle Cary is the nearest railway station - about 18 mins drive. You have exclusive use of the walled garden. The 25 acres including the ponds are private but are also used by our guests from our 2 nearby holiday 'cottages' and ourselves. In fact we swim in the ponds every Saturday and Sunday at 10am and you would be welcome to join us :-) We welcome children but be aware of natural hazards e.g. deep water, trip hazards, caves and 'cliff' edges.
