2 Pound Cottage is a romantic, luxury cottage for 2 in one of England's finest villages (according The Telegraph). Chocolate box pretty, it is perfect for a romantic break. Wake to the sound of church bells, eat breakfast in bed then head out to explore the beauty and peace of Dartmoor. On your return to the cottage, relax in the deep, deep bath with a bottle of fizz, listen to vinyl on the record player or sink into the sofa and read a book. You can see more on IG under twopoundcottage You will want to spend a lot of time in the large bedroom and bath area while you're here. You can chat as one of you lounges on the bed and the other soaks in the deep bath. The living room is sumptuous and cosy, with a wood burner for the winter nights and rich fabrics and blankets to snuggle into. At the back of the kitchen is our honesty bar, made from wood local to the cottage. On the side of the cottage is a small utility shed, the perfect place to hang wet coats and muddy boots. Please note the cottage sits on the village green so there is no garden, but there is a lovely bench that faces the afternoon sun at the front which makes the perfect spot for a gin and tonic. Once you've booked you will receive information on how to check in and out. We like to give you your privacy so will only see you if you have any issues during your stay. The cottage is in Lustleigh, the most gorgeous Devon village. In 2019, it was named by The Telegraph as one of England's most beautiful villages. They summed it up better than we ever could. “Hidden in a valley, this film-set-perfect village is one of Dartmoor's most lovingly maintained. Its thatched cottages are grouped around a 13th-century church, with the Primrose Tea Rooms to one side and the village shop to the other. The rural idyll is completed by the cricket pitch, communal apple orchard and a friendly pub serving real ales and great food.” Parking is free and on street. The cottage is about 35 minutes west of Exeter. During the day, take yourself up the hill and explore the magic that is the Dartmoor National Park. You'll never run out of breath-taking moments, purple heathers dipping into wild wooded gorges while sheep and wild ponies welcome you as you walk. Beyond the village, foodies will find a fine array of places to eat, including a two Michelin star restaurant. Art lovers will find a vibrant scene with the Open Studios in September and the Dartmoor Artisan Trail all year long. The very beautiful Contemporary Craft Festival in June is a fine display of the country's best makers. If the beach is your thing, Devon's coastline is as stunning as any in the world with the famous South West Coastal Path 30 minutes drive away. Bring your bike too as the village is on a lovely cycle trail. The 11km, mainly traffic free, route links Bovey Tracey to Moretonhampstead and follows the line of the old railway, which was closed to passengers in 1959.
