This delightful 18th century quarrymans cottage is decorated and furnished to a high standard whilst retaining character features such as exposed ceiling beams and cosy wood burning stove. Situated amongst some dramatic scenery in the heart of the Snowdonia National Parkand set in a quiet location overlooking fields and a nearby river & only a few minutes walk away from the Ffestiniog Steam Train railway station in Tanygrisiau. A perfect retreat for couples seeking a romantic getaway. The cottage is arranged over 2 floors, on the ground floor the living accommodation is all open plan with a comfy sitting area, dining area and well-appinted kitchen area with electric oven, induction hob, fridge with ice box and washer/dryer. The bathroom is also downstairs and has a double ended bath with shower over, basin and WC. There is no inglenook fireplace in the cottage, but the chimney breast wall more than makes up for this and is a lovely feature dressed with some fantastic artwork of the Ffestiniog Railway. A slate hearth houses the Tiger cast iron multi fuel woodburning stove. There are exposed ceiling beams downstairs, and reproduction paneling on the open staircase. The kitchen area is well equipped and is modern in styling with spotlighting, whilst retaining a country cottage look and feel to it. The spacious bedroom takes up the entire first floor and is light and bright, and has been very well appointed with a 5ft king size bed and lovely linen and fluffy towels (all included). The cottage has electric heating and this is all included in the rent. We provide all the bedding and towels, including tea towels. The cottage also has Wifi and a good selection of books and DVD's. We also provide the following ‘consumables’: Washing up liquid, washing up brush, cloth & sponge, washing powder/liquid, dishcloths, and tea towels. Liquid handwash soaps by washbasins, 2 toilet rolls and bin bags. We also provide a small supply of Tea, Coffee & Sugar and a condiment set of Salt, Pepper & Vinegar. We accept a maximum of 2 well behaved dogs - please see our House Rules. There is an enclosed gated front courtyard area with shallow stone/slate wall, access gate and picnic bench. There is also an enclosed rear patio with garden furniture. You will have the whole cottage to enjoy. Once a confirmed booking has been taken, a full confirmation, with directions and key collection details will be emailed out about 2-3 days before your arrival. There is a key safe at the cottage for easy access. I live locally so can always be contacted if you have any queries before or during your stay. There is a very comprehensive and informative guest book at the cottage with lots of ideas regarding things to see and do, local walks and attractions to visit. The cottage is situated in a terrace of about 12 cottages and is located in a quiet position away from the main road and passing traffic. Situated in the village of Tanygrisiau, meaning ‘Under the Steps’, a close neighbour of the larger town, better known as Blaenau Ffestiniog. An ideal location for exploring the attractions Snowdonia offers. There are some fantastic walks, lakes & waterfalls from the cottage too. The village has a local pub called The King’s Head (locally known as the Tap) which is about a 20 minute walk away, and there is a local bus service which runs regularly into Blaenau Ffestiniog and can be picked up at the end of the terrace. There is also Tanygrisiau Lakeside Café a 2 minute walk away which offers a wide choice of snacks & meals during the day, including a good breakfast menu which will set you up for the day.
