Amazing views! Light and airy house on the top of Crowdy Head enjoying views over the harbour and bay to Diamond Head. Set between Crowdy Head National Park and Harrington State Park, and surrounded on all sides (well, 300 degrees anyway) by ocean, we really are in nature's paradise - beaches, wetlands, ocean and headland. Look out for koalas in the trees, kangaroos on the beach, sea eagles and wedgetails soaring overhead, and whales in the ocean. Comfortably sleeps 8 with a large living area upstairs, and everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Relax on the verandas as you check the surf and decide how to spend your day. Fully equiped kitchen and laundry means you can be completely self-sufficient . BBQ and covered outdoor eating areas. Great beaches and surfing (beaches on both sides of the headland means there's always an offshore spot). Crowdy Head SLSC sits in a sheltered corner of the bay that is patrolled on summer weekends providing a protected swimming area for the kids. Crowdy is famous for it's beach, ocean and river fishing - the headland sits on the end of a sand spit extending right out into the ocean, exposing it to the full range of passing marine life, and there's a number of bombies that attract the fish. Spearfishing is also good, just outside the harbour wall and around the headland. The boating opportunities are fantastic. Good quality slipways in the harbour (x2) give immediate access to the open ocean in most conditions, and there's plenty of dedicated trailer parking. Another slipway at Harrington gives access to the extensive Manning River system and is close to the BP petrol station. Nearby Camden Haven (Camden Haven River) and Port Macquarie (Hastings River) also provide easy boating with easy access and no shortage of launch spots. Beach driving is allowed on both beaches, with multiple entry and exit points (Beach 4WD permits are available in Harrington). Paragliding on the headland provides good soaring for advanced/intermediate pilots and there are launch spots for easterly and S-S/E conditions only a few hundred meters away. Flying at Laureton is 45 minutes away (and includes North Brother and a range of coastal soaring). When the wind is too strong for flying, the kiteboarding is on! Diamond Head is 16km north along the main beach (or around the good quality unmade roads in the park) and has a network of picturesque walks. Harrington Waters Golf Club is open to the public, has a 9 hole course with 18 separate tees (5890m, par 72) and the Golf House Cafe. The local surf lifesaving club (Crowdy Head SLSC) has a cafe which is a favourite breakfast spot for the family after a morning swim. Harrington Bowls Club serves good sized meals has multiple screens showing sports and a shuttle bus service. Harrington Hotel has a woodfired pizza oven and music at the weekends, while Harrigan's Irish Pub overlooks the river at Harrington Waters. Harrington also has a pizzeria, a chip shop, a Thai restaurant, a good-sized IGA, a small general store, medical centre, pharmacy, post office, bakery, multiple coffee shops and a servo. Crowdy Head is 5 minutes drive from Harrington, 30 minutes to Taree, and 45 mins to either Forster or Port Macquarie.
