The Menon Valley is a beautiful mix of fertile small-scale agriculture (olive groves, fruit trees, aromatic herbs, sheep & goats) and wilderness. The property itself is nestled in its own private valley surrounded by forestry land. Wild, secluded and natural yet with the convenience of a town just fifteen minutes away. TGV: Avignon TGV (1h15mins). Airport: Marseille Provence or Nimes (1h30mins). Bus : There are infrequent bus services to Buis-les-Baronnies - see Tourist Office for details. Car: From Buis-les-Baronnies, take the D159 towards Poet-en-Percip and La Roche-sur-le-Buis. After the turning for La Roche-sur-le-Buis, go past the DFCI Citerne d’Alauzon sign (do not turn here) and through the small village of Les Sias. 2 km later you will see a sign ‘Alauzon’ pointing to a small track on your left. Turn left here and follow the ‘Alauzon’ signs. The house and gites are located at the end of a 1km gravel track. Rental cars and other 2WD vehicles will have no problem accessing. Be aware that some satnav software may take you up the back roads which require a 4WD vehicle. A headtorch is very useful here as it gets very dark at night! Please read the directions carefully (Getting Around) so that you don’t end up on the forest tracks! We don’t recommend following sat nav from Buis-les-Baronnies. We can email you a map and directions. Travelling with children? We can help! We can provide a travel cot, baby bath and high chair. We have two children and we know what it's like to travel with the little ones, so don't worry if you forget to pack something, we can help you out. Drinking water: Water from our well is filtered on site (physical and UV filter). However, there remains a high fluoride count (the stuff you get in toothpaste). There are no ill effects from drinking it for a short period of time or cooking with it.
