Welcome to Ïing Rim/The Old House- a Homestay Bed & Breakfast at Golden Estate, Lawjynriew, Shillong. You will be staying in Suite 2 with bedroom, private study with attached bathroom. Ïing Rim is a newly renovated colonial era Assam type house. Golden Estate is a locality in the heart of the town and yet nicely tucked away in a residential area with hedges and old world charm. Ïing Rim/The Old House is a newly renovated colonial era Assam type house with wooden floors, corrugated tin roof, light walls made of reed and lime sand mixture and a garden. Ïing Rim consists of two guest suites, ONE & TWO. You will be in The Old House TWO, the smaller of the two suites, with bedroom, private study with attached bathroom & toilet with running hot water. You also have access to a shared sitting room, a shared fully equipped kitchen and a shared verandah overlooking our garden. Standard occupancy of The Old House TWO is two persons. On no account more than two persons will be accommodated in the suite. As an occupant of of Suite 2, you have your own private study. But you also have a access to a fully equipped kitchen, living room cum dining space and a common patio facing the garden. I live ten minutes walking distance away in the next locality, and try to come to Ïing Rim / The Old House regularly to check on the guests and arrangement. Bah Samuel Mysynong, looks after the property on a regular basis and he lives on the ground floor of the concrete annexe. Lawjynriew-Nongthymmai is an old Shillong locality. At one point of time, Lawjynriew-Nongthymmai was the last residential area of Shillong town before the cantonment area began. The area consisted of large estates and clan compounds. We are ten minute walk away from the palace of Mayurbhanj kings which now hosts Indian Institute of Management. 10 minutes away is also Laitumkhrah, Shillongs most multi-cultural educational hub full of cafes and restaurants. You are five minutes walk away from Shillong-Jowai road from where you can get local city buses and shared cabs to various areas of Shillong including Police Bazar and Iewduh. Ïing Rim is designed as a self-service fully contained guest unit and thus we expect that you shall keep the place clean and safe. We would take care of your breakfast and Bah Samuel would clean after the breakfast but rest of the time if you use the kitchen, we expect that you would clean up after yourself. You would also share the space with guests in the other suite, we hope that you are respectful towards each other.
