Traditional 18th Century cottage with loads of character and some original features located in the heart of the village of picture postcard village of Castle Combe. The perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds, Bath or the beautiful surrounding countryside. Parking is available free of charge in the hotel car park. Please note that access to the hotel and grounds isn't guaranteed as the hotel does close for private events. Reception at The Manor House is 24 hours. Between 12th April and 17th May check in/out will be at The Castle Inn, a stones throw from the cottage, just beyond the hotel's exit gate in the village Castle Combe is a picture postcard Cotswold village that is often considered 'England's Prettiest Village' and has remained largely unchanged for hundreds of years. It’s been used as the backdrop for films including Stardust and Steven Spielberg's Warhorse. The UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath is only 12 miles away and can be reached by car in 30 minutes or by train from Chippenham Station in 12 minutes. There is also a Park & Ride nearby. There are several National Trust properties a short drive away including Dyrham Park and Lacock Abbey & Village which you may recognise from the Harry Potter films. Other nearby places of interest include Bristol and Longleat House & Safari Park. Castle Combe Race Circuit is located just at the top of the village. There are no shops in Castle Combe, the closest supermarkets are in Chippenham which is around 5 miles away, just off J17 of the M4. There’s a village post office in Yatton Keynell which is less than 2 miles from Castle Combe. Public Transport is infrequent in Castle Combe with buses only coming to/from the village a few times a day. Chippenham is 5 miles away and there is a train station here on the mainline from London Paddington which can be reached in 70 minutes. There is no taxi rank in Castle Combe but details of local taxi companies can be obtained from The Manor House or The Castle Inn. Parking is available in the car park at The Manor House.
