Our incredible homestead nestled in the woods is the perfect place to make memories. Make it a getaway in the Gorge. Step outside for a walk in the woods or along the river where peace and beauty will surround you. During the summer trails and rivers are all right here! The winter brings great opportunities for taking an authentic Finnish sauna after watching the salmon spawning on the river as well as possibilities for local winter sports in the area. Our family homestead was recently remodeled using lumber from our land and the details and warmth in this space are more than welcoming. The kitchen and dining room allow even large groups to be accommodated easily. Plenty of living spaces invite you around the house. The dorm style sleeping arrangements are fun and functional, especially for families. Many breweries and wineries are located within a short drive. Hiking trails are plenty in this area of the Gorge and Mt.Hood is less than an hour away. You will also have access to our great trails and river, shared with campers we allow on the property. AT THIS TIME WE ARE NOT ALLOWING ANY EVENTS OR PARTIES. You will have access to everything in the house, including a wonderful sauna. You also have access to trails that lead to a river, beach, and hiking trails among the trees. These trails are also shared with a few private camp sites we have spread out through the property (seasonally). Two of the owners of this property live nearby so will be able to help or answer questions quickly should that need arise. Also, there is an onsite outdoor enthusiast living in the attached apartment who is often available to help! This is on a large private piece of land that has been in our family for nearly 150 years! All the trails and sections of the river that are walking distance are private and can be enjoyed during your stay. However, during summer seasons we do allow some camping on the property (private spots near river) so you may share some of the trails and river access with other guests. But there is plenty of room for all and you will most likely feel like you have the property to yourself! Please use trails and swim at your own risk. This is far from public transportation and you would need your own transportation to get here. The house is attached to an apartment with a long term tenant living there. He is a very friendly, outdoors loving, mellow guy. He is also able to help answer questions about the property if you happen to see him. We also rent a small sleeping cottage (‘The Pumphouse’) that is within 100 yards of the main house. It is small and accommodates only 2-3 guests at a time that do not share facilities with the main house. This can also be rented out by you if you would like more sleeping space.
