The Tawarri Studio is a beautiful lime stone studio apartment. It has one spacious living area with a lofty vaulted ceiling with a luxury bathroom attached. The Studio is well appointed with aircon, kitchenette, TV, and is nestled on an acre of bushland garden that it shares with the main house. It’s a stone's throw from the Glenelg river, the Lower Glenelg National Park, And the pristine beaches of Discovery Bay. Note - we are currently unable to provide linen for our guests. Apologies. The Tawarri Studio is on an acre of quiet, secluded natural bushland that almost feels like it's in the National Park, where the wildlife is literally on your doorstep. Roos, wallabies, echidna, sugar gliders, possums, and even an occasional emu can be seen from the doorstep. It's proximity to the bush, river and beach make it an ideal place for walking, boating, swimming, bird watching, fishing or simply retreating from a busy life. It shares the garden with the main house, but they are separated by plantings and screens to provide private outdoor spaces to both. The Studio is suited to singles, couples and families with one Queen bed and two camp beds that can be used either in the Studio itself or in the adjacent meditation room (30m away). The Studio is fully rainwater supplied and largely solar powered. The kitchen has a range of cooking facilities including hotplates, microwave and numerous electrical appliances provided for maximum guest comfort. The local well-stocked shop is open seven days. On the walls of the Studio are works of art by local artists James R Butt (paintings) and Lyn Butt (photos). These works are all for sale, and we can pass on their number to them if you are interested in purchasing any of them. There is also a TV (HD&LCD&DVD), sound system and a heating/cooling split system, none of which make this space unique, but all of which contribute to making this well designed, delightful space even more inviting and enjoyable to be in. The space is a studio cottage with its own private courtyard that is clearly set within its own space. Feel free to utilise the Meditation room set in the bushland near the main drive, although please leave it as you found it. This beautiful small, circular building 30m away from the Studio can also serve as a second bedroom. There are two camp beds and linen in the large cupboard in the Studio that can be carried out and set up. Please note, there is no power in this room, so torches or camping lanterns are a must! I will be available to ask questions via the app and site. If you have any problems, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I will include my phone number with the check-in details when your booking is confirmed. Tawarri is 1.5km from the small township of Nelson. The Glenelg River is 150m away through a bush track, and the Lower Glenelg National Park is just 300 m upstream. The ocean beach and the Discovery Bay Costal Park are 3.5km away where the magnificent Glenelg river meets the Southern Ocean. There is a general store (or the "Kiosk"), a petrol station and a Pub, which offer great meals at reasonable prices. The closest public transport is to Mount Gambier which is 32km to the west.
