Hoyles Creek Cottage Retreat
We have a cosy wood fire heater, I would like to think this is a home away from home. It's a very peaceful spot where you can feel one with nature. It is set in the middle of a farming community with spectacular views of rolling hills and the sounds of birds and occasional sheep. The warm mid morning sun lulls into a sense of calm and takes you far away from everyday hustle and bustle. a lovely spot to take your young children as we have a variety of animals and we also cater for babies. We are set on 6.9 acres divided into the house plot with a paddock behind which contains a dam. To the right of the cottage there is also another paddock which leads down to a creek at the bottom. We also have five sheep and two Alpacas named Daisy and Little Tommo, (big sheep, small sheep respectively) and Martha(white Alpaca) , Betsy(black & white Alpaca). There are also have 2 horses, Bruce and Amber they love a carrot or apple . You are welcome to go for a walk around the property, however please ensure you close any gates behind you as they need to stay confined to the paddock. Please enter the paddocks via the gates next to the Victorian house.(please note you will have to climb the fence or step over it at the moment as we are setting up new gates sorry about the inconvenience)This is a great place for young children as they live the animals, just a touch of farm life. The wood fire heater is a new addition and is very warm and cosy to sit in front off on those cold winter days and evenings. When you arrive at the retreat the cottage is located to the right of the driveway and can be entered via the two steps that lead up onto the balcony. We do not live at the property so we will rarely see you, however on weekends we do come up to work on the Victorian home to the left of the cottage. We will not disturb you as we respect any visitors privacy but you are more than welcome to come and have a chat if you desire. Our place is fairly secluded and it is rare to see anyone, even in the adjoining properties, however, we are only 10 mins drive from the next town heading away from Ballarat, called Skipton. There is a local IGA to pick up everyday essentials. There is also Linton which is a small town 10 mins going back t Ballarat, it has a pub for meals and is a town full of history, just nice to have a walk through and have a refreshment. The cottage adjoins farming land to the west and bush to the north. We are located on the 'Ballarat to Skipton Rail Trail' so for people who love bush walking or bike riding this is a wonderful place to explore the Australian Country Side along the rail trail. Much flora and wildlife can be observed along the length of this pretty track. We are 30 mins drive from the bustling town of Ballarat where there are many historical sights to visit. Further past Skipton is the Grampians which is an hour away. There is no public transport to Mannibadar. It is 43km along the Geelong hwy from Ballarat. It is quite a scenic drive passing through a number of small country towns along the way hosting anything from Equestrian events to local footy and antique shops. We leave a supply of cut firewood for you to make up the fire place. The flue works and is open when pushed to the left, once the fire is burning well slip the flue handle to the right to slow the flow down and help the fire burn a little more slowly to build up some hot coals that can burn into the night.
