Shepherd's Watch - Fantastic Luxury Glamping!
Our genuine vintage shepherd’s wagon steeped in local history, lovingly restored by ourselves to offer couples luxury glamping with all the little touches to make your stay special. Please Note: MINIMUM 2 night bookings Set on our farm in the Alkham Valley within an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' in the Kent Downs and near to Dover Castle and the famous 'White cliffs of Dover'. PLEASE NOTE: Minimum 2 night bookings at weekends. We have special discounts for 2 or more night bookings. Inside has been stylishly decorated with a large ensuite shower, plenty of hot water, heated towel rail, locally-made toiletries, kingsize bed, cosy wood stove, kitchen area for light cooking. The kitchen area has an electric two ring cooking hob, Dualit toaster & kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, fridge, mini Belfast sink with cutlery and cooking utensils. The sleeping area has a very comfortable handmade kingsize mattress with a goosedown duvet and quality bedding, plenty of hanging space & storage, with a hairdryer supplied too! Outside you can relax and enjoy the privacy of your own grass meadow with stunning views and sunsets in the evenings! There is a sitting area around the firepit which can also be used as a barbeque for those cosy evenings just watching the sun go down across the beautiful Kent Downs. Our guests can pre-order a packed lunch or breakfast hamper for a light easy breakfast using locally sourced produce. Our shepherd's hut is situated in its own private paddock with parking next to the hut. Outside there is a log store with free wood supplied for both the woodstove and outside firepit. There is seating around the firepit and table and chairs for outdoor eating. We welcome guests at the farmhouse on arrival and take them down to the hut. We can be contacted at the farmhouse if any help is required. We have pretty country walks and horse riding available locally. A short drive away, is the famous 'White Cliffs of Dover and the castle' or the historic city of Canterbury is 20 minutes drive away. There are numerous castles around our varied coastline. We provide maps for local routes, timetables for buses along the Alkham Valley. We are only 10 minutes away from the towns of Folkestone and Dover so taxis are available to hire. 1 dog is welcome but arrangements must be made before arrival. There is a £20 charge payable on arrival. Dog's must be kept on a lead outside due to livestock.
