The Cart House is a grade 2 listed building that has been comprehensively and sympathetically restored in 2017 to provide high quality, self-catering, holiday accommodation. Now the spacious three storey stone cottage, comfortably sleeps two people and is beautifully furnished, boasting stunning, exposed wooden beams and an open, refreshing living area. The cottage makes a wonderfully relaxing base to return to at the end of each adventure-filled day. The holiday cottage was built in 1778 as accommodation for a cart, two horses and a groom upstairs. During World War One it was used to store coal and later as a carpenter’s shop and store. We have really put our personal touch into The Cart house Cottage to ensure it provides a lovely relaxing holiday home. At The Cart House Cottage we supply the following for every guests stay:- TV with Freeview and DVD, DAB, FM radio with CD player and Bluetooth, storage for bicycles and equipment, WiFi, Gas central heating and electric coal effect fire, kitchen with dishwasher, washer – dryer, microwave and fridge with icebox. Off road parking for one car, additional on street parking is available nearby if required. A charming stone-built cottage located in Axbridge, Somerset. A truly fabulous location for exploring the South West. Ground floor double bedroom and bathroom Open plan first floor living, dining and kitchen areas Mezzanine floor with double sofa bed for occasional use Views towards Cheddar Gorge Fitted kitchen with dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave and fridge with icebox Gas central heating and electric coal effect fire Off road parking for one car, additional on street parking is available nearby if required Shed for cycle and equipment storage WiFi TV with Freeview and DVD DAB, FM radio with CD player and Bluetooth connectivity Minimum stay 2 nights Sorry no pets or children under 12 No smoking There are two smoke detectors with both 2 safety lights (torches) a fire blanket and two powder fire extinguishers, together with a fire escape plan. The owner Valerie has appointed the management company Roost to help with all enquiries up to check-in. Once checked in, guests will be able to meet Val and she will be happy to host your stay. Axbridge is very well located for exploring the Somerset countryside and the and nearby market towns. The coast is 10 miles away and both Bath and Bristol are within 30 miles and the Cart House Holiday Cottage is an excellent base from which to explore these historic and lively cities. The history of Axbridge stretches back to prehistoric times with evidence of people living in the caves of the Mendip Hills. Later the Romans settled and mined in the area. However, it is with the medieval period that Axbridge is most closely associated. Easy access to the motorways and A roads. We would recommend travelling by motor-vehicle, however there are plenty of walks nearby. There are two smoke detectors with both 2 safety lights (torches) a fire blanket and two powder fire extinguishers, together with a fire escape plan. Max Occupancy is 3 adults
