Originally built in 1879, the cottage has been beautifully renovated and decorated to create the perfect rustic retreat for the single traveler, couples, or families. The Old Pirates Cottage combines peace and quiet with character and convenience. The cottage offers a little oasis of calm. The artistic décor includes an eclectic mix of natural materials, vibrant colours, and original artwork in a wonderful blend of old and new. There is even a stunning beach landscape mural in the bathroom painted by Adelaide artist (and son of the owners) Ned Bajic. Step through the front door and into a world of artistic ambiance. This fully furnished cottage has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The living areas are warm and welcoming, the generously sized kitchen is well equipped, and there are two double bedrooms. A sofa bed is included for an additional guest. Guests are also encouraged to make the most of the delightful private rear garden, complete with a bar and barbeque. In winter, the cottage is a cosy and inviting hide-away; in summer, it offers a welcome respite from the heat. The cottage is close to the beautiful and unspoilt beach at Semaphore where you can also enjoy a ride on the historic carousel. Semaphore Road is alive with popular cafes and charming shops. The Old Pirates Cottage combines peace and quiet with character and convenience. It is the ideal place to call home during your visit to Port Adelaide. Well behaved pooches are welcome with prior approval from the owners. All cottage, front and back yard Your friendly hosts, Zoran and Silvana Bajic, are always delighted to welcome guests to The Old Pirates Cottage. Zoran and Silvana live in an adjacent cottage and are always available to help with local information and advice. Silvana takes care to ensure the kitchen is always well-stocked on your arrival with ample provisions for your first morning. You are also welcome, on occasion, to join Zoran and Silvana for an informal dinner, or drinks in the garden. Zoran and Silvana speak Bosnian as well as English and love to welcome guests from near and far! The Old Pirates Cottage is perfectly located in the heart of Port Adelaide. You can easily walk to the Railway Museum, Aviation Museum, Maritime Museum, lighthouse and waterfront. Port Adelaide railway station is just a five-minute walk away, offering easy access to the Adelaide CBD. A shopping centre with a Coles supermarket, Kmart, post office and other facilities is adjacent to the station. We look forward to welcoming you to our cottage and will do all we can to help you enjoy your stay. We ask that you do not smoke inside, but you are welcome to smoke in the garden or in the square opposite the cottage. Even though we are next door and always on hand to help, we respect your privacy and will never intrude.
