Romantic Family Chalet near Ljubljana

Our renovated Romantic Family Chalet stands in the village of Rakitna, pristine nature, close to the Rakitna lake and only 30 minutes from Ljubljana. Our guests can enjoy their days taking in the clean fresh air, taking strolls, mountain hiking, swimming, barbecuing at the well, starring at the clear night stars and drinking refreshing tap water. No air-conditioning is needed as Rakitna has a pleasant natural climate. Around the house there are 3000 m2 of green space just for you. The living area of the chalet is 70 m2. It is divided into two storeys. The ground floor consists of an: entrance hall, spacious living room, kitchen and a bathroom with a toilet. The living room is decorated with special Art Deco styled furniture and a touch of more modern furniture to offer all the comfort and tranquility. Above the fireplace, hangs a collection of old minning lamps used by miners in Slovenian mines. Our spacious kitchen is fully equipped for any of your cooking needs. The first floor consists of two large bedrooms. Both bedrooms are furnished with modern furniture and comfortable beds. In one of the bedrooms a balcony and a pleasant breeze will welcome you every morning. If you're lucky enough, you'll even witness a Bambi. Around the house there are 3000 m2 of green space just for you, where you can lie in the shade of trees, walk on the dewy grass, light your own fire in the evening and bake dinner. Children can play in the natural environment around the house, where we are often visited by deer and bunnies, and at the end of June, fireflies are lit. 10 minutes walk from the house is Rakitna Lake, where you can swim in summer, ice skating in winter and cross-country skiing. As the chalet lies in the midst of pristine nature, it is suitable for anybody who is looking some inner peace, good vibes and holiday satisfaction in a cool climate. Guests can access all areas of the chalet and the spacious garden. Guests are welcome to use the barbeque, terrace space and other outdoor amenities which includes all of the herbs and vegetables grown on the property. Around the house there are 3000 m2 of green space just for you. Rakitna lake is a 10 minute walk away and it's perfect for swimming and fishing. Rakitna has a pleasant and ecologically unspoiled environment, therapeutic climate, good air and quality water, well-kept walking and hiking trails and many other natural and cultural attractions in the village and its neighbourhood. It also has small market in the center of village open every day and restaurant near the lake. Rakitna provides a variety of possibilities for physical recreation and mental relaxation. In the natural environment of Rakitna, you can find many corners where you can listen to the silence, rustle of the wind in the treetops or birds chirping and you can “chat” with the grass. On the Rakitna meadows you can observe the flowering fields and discover rare, protected plants. On the forest paths you can experience the encounter with friendly forest animals, and safe from the observation point, you can even observe bears. Due to extremely favorable climate conditions, it has been a popular health resort for people with lung problems since the beginning of the 20th century. The capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana, is only a 30 minute drive away from Rakitna or 45 minutes by bus. In recent years, Ljubljana has been ranked in the list of the most sustainable destinations in the world for four times. Rakitna is a place where travellers, cyclists and motorcyclists want to go. In the summer you can swim and fish in the lake and in the winter you can ice skate and do cross-country skiing. Rakitna is also a suitable starting point for discovering green Slovenia. The world famous Postojna cave with its human fish (Proteus anguinus) is 40 km away and the Škocjan caves under the UNESCO heritage protection are 65 km away. Lipica, the home of the proud horse breed of Lipizzaners is also located near the Škocjan caves. Other Slovenian gems like lake Bled and Bohinj, Piran and Portorož are also not far away.
