Located on top of a hill in the jungle that meets the ocean! We're in the middle of two beautiful beaches. Three minutes walking distance to beautiful Hiriketiya Beach with two surf breaks and quieter Pehembiya Beach that’s great for swimming and watching amazing sunsets! "Kelaya" is where you will get the opportunity to experience nature and wildlife in a village setting while living in comfort at our chalets. “Kelaya” meaning Jungle in Sinhalese is a collection of individual Chalets at Hiriketiya Collection. It’s a themed mini village depicting the novel “Village in the Jungle” by Leonard Woolf. A standalone cottage/chalet with attached partially open bathroom with its own palm tree and outdoor sitting area! All necessary amenities such as Wifi and USB charging outlets are included. Antique doors, louvers, and ceiling fan will keep you cool while the comfy Spring Mattress will give you a great night’s sleep. Sitting areas are ideal to read, relax or catch up on some work with beautiful views of nature and wildlife. An amazing partially outdoor bathroom that even has its own coconut palm growing inside it which is also your shower! A magical experience... A kitchen is offered with a one burner gas stove, blender, silverware, and a few pots and pans for simple cooking needs. Chalets are tastefully designed with colours of the earth & sea in mind that blends harmoniously with the nature around. We have sourced local materials and crafts from all parts of the island including a hand woven Palmyrah Ceiling which you will encounter throughout the property. The hotel was designed sparing all trees within the property and the end result has been spectacular! Kelaya is an eco-friendly & sustainable hotel where guests could encounter nature and wildlife at its best. The hosts or management will be there or reachable via phone or text to help you during your stay. Hiriketiya is fast becoming the most talked about beach destination in Sri Lanka due to the year round calm sea ideal for swimming and surfing. Also there are many good local and international restaurants both in Hiriketiya and in Dikwella town. Many restaurants and bars are walking distance from us (please see our guidebook for recommendations). Both Hiriketiya Bay and Dikwella Pehebiya Beach are a three minute walk from us as we’re right in the middle of them! See many monkeys & peacocks in the area! The A2 Galle Road connects you to other beach towns by local buses or you may again rent a Tuk Tuk or taxi. A shared semi-outdoor kitchen is offered for simple cooking. It is in no way a full kitchen to prepare proper meals but functional. A one burner gas stove, some pots and pans, silverware, plates and cups are available. The kitchen is in front the chalet (separate entrance) and shared with two other chalets. We kindly ask you to keep noise levels minimal when using it and clean up after each use.
