Come stay at Storybook House, a uniquely designed home located in the heart of World Heritage listed Springbrook National Park. Springbrook includes some of the best views and walks in Queensland. Apart from the birds you will be the only guests occupying this beautiful little property. Wander across the road for your morning coffee at Springbrook Cafe & Bar, then a 2 min stroll down the road puts you at the trail head for the magical Purling Brook Falls circuit. Storybook House is a self-contained home on Springbrook Mountain. It is an ideal tranquil getaway for all ages, including families, friends or couples, and a perfect place for bushwalkers and nature lovers! There are 2 bedrooms, plus an upstairs loft, sleeping up to 7 people comfortably. Bedroom 1 upstairs: one Queen bed and an ensuite bathroom. Bedroom 2 downstairs: two single beds, and a trundle (available by request). Loft Area upstairs: one double sofa bed (made up on request). There is a full bathroom downstairs, an ensuite with bath upstairs, a well-equipped kitchen, dining, lounge, and a kids area with some books, games and drawing materials provided. For your indoor entertainment there is a selection of books, games, and a smart TV (you can login to your own streaming accounts or watch free-to-air). If you prefer you can just relax in front of the cosy gas fireplace, which provides instant no fuss warmth. The nights at Springbrook are so quiet and the stars are so bright that you could take a torch lit walk to see how different the night sky is away from the bright lights of the Gold Coast. You may even spot the little nocturnal animals coming out to feed. Outdoors, two large covered deck areas and one small covered deck area provide the perfect opportunity to soak up the Springbrook air while chasing some sun and feeding the local parrots and cockatoos. Don’t forget to put some seed in the feeders for their afternoon rounds. A gas BBQ is provided, as well as a lovely view. The house is set in a beautiful, fully fenced and child friendly garden space. Off-street parking is available for up to three vehicles in the driveway. Two local cafes and Purling Brook Falls Circuit are all within easy walking distance. You'll need your vehicle to reach Twin Falls Circuit, Best of All Lookout, and the famous Springbrook Fudge Shop. I live around 10 mins further up the mountain. If you find yourself stuck during your stay, please don't hesitate to message or call. Springbrook is a quiet mountain community set amongst World Heritage Listed Rainforest and National Park. Spectacular walks, hikes and trail runs cater to all fitness levels, or just browse the speciality gift shops, road-side stalls, and enjoy the coffee and great meals from the local cafes. Your own transport is essential. There's no public transport at Springbrook, and whilst an Uber may be willing to drop you up here, they won't come back to collect you. Your own transport is essential when visiting Springbrook as there is no public transport. Please note access to Springbrook is either via Nerang Murwillumbah Road and then Pine Creek Road, or from Mudgeeraba via Gold Coast Springbrook Road. There is no fuel or grocery stores in Springbrook (apart from a few staples stocked at the cafe across the road). Visitors need to organise these before heading up the mountain. Mudgeeraba and Nerang have good shopping facilities. When preparing to visit Springbrook, keep in mind that mountain weather can be cooler and wetter than the coast so it's advisable to pack some warm clothes, a rain jacket, suitable hiking shoes, and a torch for night walking. Our house runs on rain water and a septic system. We rely solely on rain to fill our water tank, so kindly request shorter showers, and flush only what you've eaten, and use the provided toilet paper. The parrots and cockatoos that love to say hello should be fed the provided seed only as to not upset their delicate microflora. Telstra Mobile phones receive the best reception at Springbrook. You may need to go to high points or lookouts if you have trouble receiving mobile connections with other providers at times. Some WiFi is available at the home, which may be more reliable. There is a free Telstra phone box across the road. We know you hate leaving your pets behind, but unfortunately we cannot accomodate them at Storybook House, and they aren't permitted in the National Park. Storybook House is a non smoking property both inside and out- please adhere to this rule for the health and safety of others coming into the space after you, plus the protection of our delicate forests and native wildlife. Beds are made prior to arrival and guest blankets and towels are provided. We also supply old towels in the bathroom vanity and laundry for any mishaps, rainy days, drying off outdoor tables etc. Please do not use the guest towels for mucky tasks or makeup removal. We do have neighbours we like to remain friends with - to respect their space and tranquility, we ask that there be no parties, or loud music. 2 night minimum stay only. Please read the amenities list thoroughly.
