Betsy Cottage Nr Glastonbury and Wells

Betsy is an established holiday let with over 5 years of bookings. Betsy is a Grade II listed cottage and the epitome of tranquillity and romance. Betsy Cottage is a medieval Grade II listed semi-detached cottage which has been beautifully restored. The large bedroom has an ornate four-poster bed and additionally there is a wonderfully comfortable, working antique copper bath in the bedroom. The living room provides a stunning inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove. Betsy is a charming romantic cottage. The cottage is named after Betsy Birch who lived there around 300 years ago with her 7 children and a lodger! The ancient beams along with the four poster bed in the bedroom make for a rather comforting and dramatic setting. The kitchen is small but is well equipped. Due to its size we can’t fit a full size oven in. The counter top oven though is absolutely fine for basic cooking. Most of our guests tend to head up to the pub which is within walking distance. In the summer sit out in the courtyard and pick grapes from the grapevine. During the winter snuggle up on the sofa in front of the log burning stove. None of the property is out of bounds. If it’s shopping you are after then Clarke’s village is 5 minutes drive. There is a great choice of National Trust property’s around and some stunning walking as well. If it’s walking your after then we can supply you with local maps. Butleigh village is very quiet. Don’t expect lots of phone signal but do expect to have the perfect excuse to switch off and listen to the sound of nothing. The village boasts a shop full of well stocked local produce and a Post Office. Make sure you have the car!
