A quiet Grade II listed cottage tucked away in the heart of the historic town of Llangollen. This lovely stone-built house has recently been refurbished to a high standard with simple oak furniture and light interior spaces. The house has a master bedroom with a super-king sized bed. A second bedroom with a single bed makes this a comfortable fit for three visitors with a sofa bed in the living room as an option for a fourth guest. The house has high speed broadband, an internet-enabled TV and fully equipped brand new kitchen. The living room is the perfect place from which to plan your excursions, whether they be exploring the historic town and its burgeoning dining scene or venturing out to explore the spectacular surrounding countryside and heritage attractions. Visitors will be given directions to find the house with keys available in a wall-mounted keysafe, allowing you to come and go at leisure. The host will be available for queries from guests as they arise. An information pack on the house facilities is provided along with maps and books identifying highlighted walking in the district and recommendations for local eating places. The house is located on a side street off one of Llangollen's oldest streets and is one of the oldest surviving houses in the town. The neighbourhood is a conservation area and full of characterful buildings with the town hall, museum, bookshops, delicatessen, greengrocers, butchers, pubs and restaurants within a couple of minutes of the front door. The bridge over the River Dee is the focal point of the town, adjacent to the steam heritage railway and all overlooked by the iron age hillfort and medieval castle of Dinas Bran on the adjacent hilltop. If hill walking isn't your thing, then the World Heritage Site running through the town (Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal) offers a gentle canal-side stroll along the valley to Thomas Telford's impressive engineering monument. If you time your visit correctly, the annual International Eisteddfod is hosted at the purpose-built pavilion to celebrate music and song from around the globe. Llangollen is approached from the east along either the A5 or the A539. The former the old Roman road tracing the route of conquest towards Anglesey. There is on-street parking close to the house as well as public car parks in Llangollen. The nearest railway stations are at Ruabon (6 miles) and Chirk (7 miles) with regular connecting bus services.
