Double bed (140 x 190) and private bathroom, green view and lots of sun! If you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway, this is the place for you! The house is quiet, but from the outside, you might hear cows' bells, eagles' callings and horses' clop. You will hear the church bells chiming the hour, the marching band and some music coming from the village, especially during the well-known summer festival "Riviviamo il Centro Storico". A kitchen and a comfy living room, with sofa bed, are available. There are also a well cared for garden with fruit trees (you are welcome to harvest!), olive trees, a vegetable garden and an amazing view. There's no need for AC as the house is insulated, and a pleasant breeze makes spending time idly outside even more enjoyable. Enclosed parking is available. Not suitable for physically challenged (sorry!) mostly because of the stairs. You are welcome to use the kitchen to make yourself a nice vegan breakfast or coffee and tea during the day. I will be happy to leave homemade fruit jam and homebaked rye bread, when possible. Full access to the kitchen on agreement, only veg - thank you! WiFi is available upon request, kindly let me know in advance if you need it at least three days before arrival. You will share the house with me, my fiancé and our friendly pets - 4 dogs and 4 cats. Toffia is quite a small town, its people are welcoming and kind hearted, and it hosts a market every Saturday morning. It is located just 50km north of Rome (35 minutes by train) and the closest train station is 15 minutes' drive away. I could come to pick you up but I highly suggest to rent a car and explore the land. Fara Sabina, Farfa's Abbey, an ancient Benedictine monastery, and the homonymous pools are just 10 minutes' drive away. Peaceful place and characteristic of the Sabina's area, made out of rolling hills, most of them covered with olive groves and dotted with medieval villages and castles. It almost looks like a movie set... except it’s real! Hiking or horseback riding are two of the many things to do. Nature's beauty is everywhere and it’s not unusual to cross a crystal clear water stream and an ancient Roman bridge still perfectly standing after 2,000 years. The Sabina's hills are generally quite gentle in height but you can also find higher mountains toward the east of the region. After exploring the region, one of the best ways to reward yourself in the Sabine Hills is to enjoy its food. Many traditional local dishes can be enjoyed at restaurants and trattorie scattered in the countryside. In Sabina we produce one of the most famous extra virgin olive oils of ‘protected designation of origin’ (DOP) in Italy, light yet complex in flavour. The olive tree culture’s glorious history is proven by the great and imposing 'Olivone' located in Canneto Sabino, a real giant which claims to be ‘The Largest Olive Tree in Europe’. It is also a silent witness of ancient Roman and Sabine history, from imperial times to the decline of the Empire to the Carolingian presence in the territory. Lunches and dinners upon request! You can also invite your friends over. I really enjoy cooking for others :) We can arrange Italian (Mediterranean and vegan) and Indonesian cooking classes, hikes and wine tours, natural soaps and cosmetics making workshops. Yoga and juggling classes available at times.
