Maison Sacré is the perfect place to take in the ocean views, to relax with family and friends, to watch eagles soar by, whales passing through Welcome Pass, and to listen to the sound of waves crashing on the rocks below. Cozy up on the many decks, with a good read or relaxing snooze. The great outdoors awaits with many hiking trails, kayaking and swimming. You will fall in love with Maison Sacré, the location, the tranquility, the peace and quiet from everyday life. You will feel right at home with West Coast inspired local art. The home is a two level home with a King master suite, ensuite with soaker jetted tub and walk in closet. The 2nd bedroom on the upper level is the bunk room with two bunks with two doubles down and singles up. On the main level are two queen bedrooms decorated in coastal decor with a shared bathroom, shower and soaker tub. The kitchen is large with everything you would need to cook up a large meal. The dining room seats 10 and the table is a piece of art. There is a comfortable living room and separate TV room with cards and games to play. At times the power will go out if the weather is stormy (more in the fall and winter). We do have lots of candles, flashlights in every bedside table and a wood burning fireplace to keep you warm. It’s all part of the rural, coastal experience, although very infrequent. There is also a power outage kit with everything you need stored in the kitchen pantry. Please note, there is no Postal/Courier delivery to the home. If you have packages arriving, please use the Sechelt post office hold for pick up. The wood fired hot tub is an experience and very rustic. From filling the tub and starting the fire to enjoying the tub, it does take time to get it going. There are detailed instructions in the Welcome Book in the home. The tub is filled with fresh water and no chemicals are used. It is drained and cleaned between each guests stay. You can get some ash from the smoke stack and that is all part of the experience. You will have the entire home and property to yourself. There is a large driveway to park cars. It can get pretty dark at night with no street lights although the house is well lit. We suggest trying to arrive during daylight hours. If you need anything we are just a phone call or text away. The romantic name of Halfmoon Bay suits this peaceful curve in the coastline. Gentle bays and coves provide protected harbours for marine traffic, and pristine wooded shores beckon. A diverse community, the region stretches northwest along the coast from Sargeant Bay and includes Redrooffs, Welcome Woods, Halfmoon Bay, Secret Cove and Wood Bay. Houses are nestled in sheltered pockets along the shoreline and in the forest. This property is a 15 minuet drive to Sechelt, where you will find wonderful restaurants, groceries, gas, and shopping. Smuggler Cove Mainer Provincial Park is located a short walk from the home. The hike is fairly easy with a few sections that ascend as you make your way up onto the rocks for views of the park and Straight of Georgia. The area has some notable history as the cove was used during the period of prohibition, smugglers would hide from authorities in the cove as they transported alcohol south to Vancouver. We have partnered with Public Goods for all of our organic and fair traded cleaning products and personal care products for your use while you stay at Maison Sacré. All our beds are made with Brooklinen Cotton Percale Hotel sheets for a cool and crisp luxuries feel with plush down hypoallergenic pillows and duvets. All towels are cotton plush bath sheets from Brooklinen along with white plush robes to wrap up in at the end of a good day. From time to time we do come up and stay in the basement suite which is completely separate from the main house.
