Luxury Garden Lodge
The Dog House is tucked away in a secluded part of our garden, in the beautiful Surrey village of Newdigate. Ideal for walkers and cyclists, the village has an award winning real ale pub with great food, a village shop and an Indian restaurant. There are nature reserves and stunning walks and only 15 minutes from Gatwick, access to the airport couldn’t be easier. The historic towns of Dorking and Reigate are a short drive away and have a great range of shops, restaurants and antique shops. The Dog House is set in the grounds of our cottage and is nestled in its own secluded garden with views of mature trees in our stunning garden. With private parking and its own entrance, you will have complete privacy. Outside there is a gravelled seating area, lawn and pretty planting. There is a gas barbecue available for use at a small additional charge. Inside we have dressed the rooms based on the things we loved when we stayed in similar lodges. The bedroom, with a luxury king size bed has bedside tables, a chest of drawers and clothes rack. A small table can be used as a workspace or to eat at and there is a comfortable armchair as well as a flat screen tv with freeview. WiFi is provided. There is a kettle and Nespresso machine with a selection of teas and coffee and the option for a continental breakfast at an additional charge. There is a small fridge, a microwave and toaster and an iron and ironing board can be provided if required. The Dog House has plenty of room for a travel cot which can be added if needed. The spacious bathroom with a roll top bath and walk in shower is luxurious and we provide toiletries, towels and a hairdryer. Guests share the drive with the main house but have their own parking space outside The Dog House. Guests have use of the garden in which The Dog House is situated but the larger cottage garden is private. As the accommodation is in part of our garden, we are usually available on site and can always be contacted by phone if we’ve popped out. Newdigate is a quiet village, rural yet within easy reach of the local market towns of Horsham, Reigate and Dorking. Farming is much in evidence and the surrounding woodlands host many beautiful walks. It has a shop, a real ale pub, Indian restaurant and a mobile fish and chip van every Saturday night. We are perfectly placed for visits to the National Trust properties of Polesden Lacey and Hatchlands Park, as well as the beautiful gardens at RHS Wisley and Leonardslee in Horsham. There are plentiful golf courses within the locality and Henfold Lakes offers course fishing in beautiful woodland surroundings. Newdigate Brickworks is a woodland and grassland reserve with 6 water bodies and Hammonds Copse is a stones throw away. Whether you want a few days soaking up country life, or need an overnight stay for a family event, The Dog House is the perfect place to stay. The road through the village has buses to Dorking, Reigate, Crawley, Box Hill to name a few. Trains from Dorking Deepdene, Redhill and Reigate travel to London in about 40minutes. Brighton is a 45 minute car drive away. The area is a noted hotspot for cyclists, being close to Box Hill and the Olympic cycle route, so if you bring your bikes, we can offer secure overnight storage.
