600 year old cottage nr Angouleme

La Voute is situated near the village of Mainzac which is mid-way between Angouleme and Brantome on the border of the Charente and Dordogne, on the edge of the Perigord/Limousin national park. Alcott offers beautiful accommodation set over two floors. On the ground floor is a fully equipped kitchen large oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The large lounge has two sofas, flat screen TV and an open fireplace with wood burner. There is a good size double bedroom with en-suite shower room and WC on the ground floor. Upstairs there is a large double with en-suite and a twin room with en-suite. Z-bed and cots are also available. Outside there is a private dinning area with large glass topped table and 6 chairs as well as a BBQ. About 20m from your front door is your private 10m by 5m in ground pool, 1.25m at the shallow end, nearly 2m at the deep end. The sundeck overlooks the pool and you can relax under the sail, we serve dinners twice weekly on the sundeck. There is also an honesty bar where wine, beers and aperitifs are available as well as table skittles, cards and other pub games. Various games including Badminton, cricket and a football net are located around the gardens. I live on site and am available at any time to advise you on where to visit, local attractions and restaurants. We are surrounded by 55 acres of land, with cut pathways around the paddocks and through our woods, which makes a wonderful early evening walk and you may be lucky and glimpse a red squirrel, deer or even a wild boar. We have an abundance of wild birds including cuckoos, nightingales, golden oriels, numerous birds of prey and bats. A car is essential, we are in a very rural location with no close public transport, we do have bikes available for hire. You are here to relax and enjoy yourselves.
