Portaria Vintage Mansion

Portaria vintage mansion, a traditional (one century old) house with a wonderful view to Makrinitsa village and Volos and surrounded by three wallnut trees, one huge oak tree and a tall linden tree in the center of the main yard, accommodates up to 11 guests. Guests may enjoy privacy, tranquillity, and the nature's sounds (bird singing and water running through the nearby stream)under the shade of the linden and the surrounding trees. The house is an ideal place for relaxing holidays with friends and family or for a romantic retreat. There are three double bed bedrooms and two rooms with 2 single beds each. The kitchen is fully equipped (fridge, dishwasher, microwave oven, cattle, 4 kitchen stoves, coffee machines, toasters) for breakfast and meal preparation. In the main yard guests may enjoy barbecue or baking using the traditional oven. Each room and common areas are heated by electric convectors. Guests may visit the village center, which is within a walking distance, stroll along the picturesque cobbled village roads, walk uphills through a beautiful park with running waters and plane trees, and reach the spring which waters Portaria and Volos, go to Makrinitsa (2km away) to Volos (10 km away) with its interesting archeological museum or to the Chania ski center (20 mins from Portaria by car). One may also engoy swimming, since the nearest beach is approx. 15 km away. Ulternatevely one may enjoy swimming in the Xenia Palace Hotel swimming pool by paying 8.00 €. The house is 80 meters away from the parking place. Photos 59 and 60 show the way from the parking place to the house and from Xenia Palace Hotel to the parking place, respectively. The neighborhood is very quiet, ideal for relaxing holidays. The bus station to Volos or Makrinitsa is approx 10 minutes from the house. The house is within a walking distance (of approx. 80 m.) from the parking place.
