Our biggest cottage, The Granary is peacefully located in the open countryside, close to the North York Moors; the town of Stokesley, with lively shops, pubs and restaurants, is just a stone's throw away. The cottage offers 5 good sized bedrooms, a massive kitchen and a very spacious living room. The Cottage is completely detached with a surrounding garden, 3 patio areas with a lovely BBQ for a relaxing and quiet rural feel. The kitchen is fully fitted and all the bedrooms have plenty of wardrobe and draw space. The master bedroom on the first floor has en-suite bathroom. There are 2 shower rooms on the first floor, 1 bathroom on the second. Fresh bedding and towels are supplied for your use and can be restocked/laundered on a weekly basis for longer stays at an additional charge. Periodic cleaning services can also be arranged for longer stays, also at an additional charge Andy and his twin brother David, together with Silvia, David’s Italian wife, are the soul of these beautiful cottages. Silvia and David live a few months of the year in Italy while Andy is always here to welcome the guests with his social and openhearted attitude. Andy is the main point of contact during your stay and is on call locally in case of problems or assistance. Silvia also guarantees a warmth communication with Italian and Spanish speaking guests from Europe. This is an ideal location from which to explore both the stunning North Yorkshire Moors and the Heritage Coast of Yorkshire, surrounded by amazing walks and cycle tracks leading into the heart of the moors where some of the prettiest villages await your visit. There’s easy access to Thirsk, the pretty market town of Helmsley, and a little further is the ancient town of Pickering, home to the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway; or a journey through the Esk Valley into the well-known villages of Grosmont and Goathland. The Heritage Coast of Yorkshire is 10-mile drive away: there are miles of sandy beaches perfect for family days out discovering tiny fishing villages, cliff top walks and panoramic coastal views, ancient seaports and much more. (These are just a few suggested locations: Saltburn, Staithes, Runswick Bay Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay then Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington). Since the area is steeped in history, you can switch between relaxing days out on the beach and museums, stately halls and homes. The postcode you will need is TS95LD. You will be on the main road A172 Stokesley. Look for the sign saying Orchard Cottages. If you are traveling north, it will be on your right just opposite the Stokesley turn off, follow the road round and you will go down a long farm drive.
