Bivó Mafalda house in the Douro

The house dates from 1853 and is situated in the Douro Valley. We invite all who wish to experience this House, to visit us, combining the visit with a tour off the enchanting shores of the Douro. Set in the center of the village, its granite walls enclosing an entire family history . The great-grandmother Mafalda Margarida bequeathed the current owner not only the name but also the house that perpetuates his memory . This house, owned by the maternal great-grandparents, was the subject of at least two major rehabilitation projects, one in 1930 and another in the fifties. Recently was the target of new recovery and expansion with the aim of creating an institution of Rural Tourism . All pieces of furniture and decoration have been lovingly cared for and restored. Thus, it intends to give life to the "House of Bivó Mafalda" as well as to perpetuate the memory of their previous owners . We have also restructured the old cellar / bar in order to create a space for leisure and entertainment. We reused as decorations the old barrels now empty of the precious wine that were used for many years. We provide a rustic, cozy, quiet and pleasant environment.
