Deerland Safari Tent, Canvas Glamping in Dorset
For a truly amazing glamping experience in an absolutely magical part of England, you need look no further than this family-owned safari tent holiday under canvas, which sits in its own meadow enjoying total, unspoilt privacy. With well thought-out, private facilities, and views of the woodlands across the Dorset countryside for days, here you will be giveb something that is so hard to find these days... space. Lots and lots of space to relax, unwind and enjoy in upscaled glamping luxury. Imagine lying in a summer meadow in the middle of a 75 acre organic farm, bees and butterflies are busy about the flowers, buzzards glide overhead and a few deer graze idly near the woods. Well, right next to you is your holiday pad, this fabulous safari tent! The whole farm is in a designated 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty', and some of it is also of 'Special Nature Conservation Interest' ... as you can imagine, it's pretty special out here. The Safari tent is elegantly poised at the top of a gently sloping meadow, with sweeping views over unspoilt countryside (you can't even see another building) and woodlands to the fore. It offers a truly off-grid experience. The woods are home to wild Fallow and Roe deer who very nicely provided us with the inspiration for the decor theme (along with a little 'Highland' input). It's quite likely you will see them out on the meadows grazing, if you are quiet enough. As well as deer, your neighbours will include badgers, buzzards, foxes, pheasants and even ravens. The wild flowers in the meadows attract many moths and butterflies. It's nothing short of a nature lover's paradise... and if you have a horse, you can bring that along too! The main feature of the open plan living area is the substantial patio table and chair set - oh boy are they comfy! You could certainly while away a few hours in one of these... too easy to take a nap! It could also be moved out onto the decking for the most amazing al-fresco meals and views. The kitchen area has a sink (cold supply) gas cooking hob, cool-box (top up ice packs can be replaced daily from the farm), crockery and cooking utensils. Breakfast and BBQ packs can be ordered from Lesley on site. At the back of the tent you will find the two generous bedrooms, first the bunk room, and immediately left is a door into the double. They are separated from the main living space and each other by a wooden partition providing a degree of privacy and noise reduction - rather handy when you've put the kiddies to bed. All bedding in provided. A (slightly gothic!) wooden hut is about 5 meters away, housing a particularly smart eco loo (child seat available), and hot shower enclosure. Towels are provided. This glamping safari tent has a particularly generous decked verandah, if you love sitting in the open air watching the world go by, this spot would be hard to beat. A large BBQ is provided, and a picnic bench, which you can move about to wherever suits. Guests will have access to the entire Safari tent, the bathroom facilities nearby and much of the 75-acre organic farm site, which is privately owned by the hosts who have worked so hard to create an amazing Dorset glamping holiday. The owners also have horses, so if you want to bring your own along, by prior arrangement and a small additional fee, they can provide either stabling or grass keep. Bookings and initial communication will be handled by Quality Unearthed, and the owners will be available during your stay if you should need anything. Set in the breathtaking county of Dorset, with verdant countryside and three-quarters of the coastline classed as a World Heritage Site featuring prominent landforms such as Lulworth Cove, the Isle of Portland, Chesil Beach and Durdle Door, you will love and enjoy your time at Deerland safari tent. The nearest train station is Maiden Newton, 6 miles away from the site. Around the local area, there are good road links to get to the site by car. Car access across fields in most weather conditions is no issue (however, as a warning very low-sitting cars might not like it!). Therefore, tractor lifts on hand when ground is not suitable for cars. One well-behaved dog is accepted at no additional charge, but must be on a lead at all times due to deer, horses and wildlife on the farm land. Please inform us at the time of booking that a dog will be joining you.
