Light open plan downstairs with french doors to your courtyard. Each bedroom has separate private, full bathroom. Quiet hamlet setting only 8 mins to the town of Chalus and the shrine of 'Richard the Lionheart'. We have a pool, games room, playing field, and lovely woodland to walk through. Refurbished throughout in 2018 with all new beds and kitchen appliances etc. New hot tub and outside furniture too. The lower floor is light and airy, yet cozy with tiled floors throughout. In the sitting room you'll find a new wood burning stove for the cooler months, (we give you a basket of kindling and some firelighters to get you started). We also give you two free baskets of firewood and more can be purchased if you need it. Uk satalite tv, french digital tv, dvd player with a selection of movies, wii console with games, and things to keep younger children entertained. Outside in the rear courtyard is your private area where you'll find sun loungers, outside dining table, a sun sail, and your own hot tub (Please note, the hot tub is an optional extra available all year round for an additional fee of €5 per day to cover electricity and cleaning. You can use the tub at any time during your stay by letting us know which days you would it like running and paying the daily rate in cash. The tub needs around 24 hours to reach the correct temperature, so please let us know asap) The kitchen has eveything you need for your stay and the dining table can seat up to six guests. Two separate staircases lead to the bedrooms and each has its own full bathroom. The baths each have a roof window so you can soak while gazing at the stars. For 2019 you will have access to the farm house games room where we have an assortment of both indoor and outdoor activities. Also, you can access the newly completed massage spa where, in complete privacy, you can treat yourself to a back, facial, hot stone or full body massage from Bianka who is uk qualified in both massage and counseling. You also have acces to the farmhouse garden and pool (closed from end of September till April) as well as some excellent foot/cycle paths and local fishing lakes. Games room with table football, pool table, air hockey, and dartboard. As well as the pool and sun deck(closed end September till April), the large farmhouse garden has a two person hammock, a raised pond and a private footpath leading to a secluded woodland glade. We offer a small selection of wine and beer and these can be taken in the garden or delivered to your cottage. If you love to cook your own meals, your cottage has a 5 burner gas hob and full oven as well everything you need to make great meals for your family, and dont forget, our hens and goats will love any kitchen leftovers and you're welcome to come into the farmhouse garden and feed them. Once youve checked in, we'll show you around and get you settled in. We're close enough so you can ask any questions but not so close to make you feel your being watched. We can offer advice on local attractions and things to do and on hand if you need us. We also provide you with a printed guide booklet which should answer most of your questions. With only 8 houses in the hamlet you are sure of peace and quiet. We have dogs, cats, and other animals on site. They are all well behaved but they all have teeth, claws, and in the case of the goats, horns, and if you annoy them, they may just let you know it.... Bus stops to the north and south are just a five minute walk. Being based in the Périgord-Limousin Regional Nature Park, we're just a short drive from the Dordogne, a region with beautiful places to visit; Brantôme and Périgueux to name a few, or you can venture south west into the Charente to the city of Angoulême or the brandy capitol of the world, Cognac. We also have several local lakes where you can spend time on the sand beaches before taking to the water for a swim.
