We look forward to welcoming guests to our lovely, spacious, modern but cosy annexe. An ideal retreat from which to explore this wonderful scenic area. With walkable access to the Southwest coastpath, and expansive sea views from the windows, all home comforts are provided in your own space. St Buryan is a peaceful rural village with handy general store, post office & church, just 5 miles from Penzance, 5 miles from Lands End, 3 miles from wonderful Porthcurno & the outstanding Minack Theatre. The annexe is a lovely, modern and cosy space. Whilst ideal for a family of five sharing one bedroom, we can cater for up to eight bed-wise. There is a double bed and up to three single beds in the main bedroom and we have three guest camp beds which can be placed in the living room. However, please note that there is only one bathroom in the annexe so your party will need to coordinate sharing the shower, sink and toilet. Please understand that the booking is not for the entire property in the photo; just the annexe, which is the right side of the house as shown in the photo. The front of the house is south facing and there is a bistro table and chairs in front of the annexe available for your use. There isn’t a washing machine or tumble dryer in the annexe but, should you need clothes washing we can do this for you for an extra fee. Having moved to this area as we loved visiting on holiday, we hope we know of all the gems! We would be delighted to share local information, or lend any items you might need. We have also placed several Cornwall guides and local history books in the space for your reference. I enjoy being a hands-on host, so you will see me most days. St Buryan is peaceful, friendly village. We have a general store just round the corner, 2 mins on foot, which sells pretty much everything and serves as a post office too. There is a village church, public house and also a children’s play park. Not too far away (15 mins stroll) there’s a farm shop with locally produced goods. The property is in a small private cul de sac with extensive sea views. As darkness falls, stargazers will appreciate the dark skies without ambient light. Within 5 miles is the main town of Penzance, now granted plastic free status. Newlyn with its fishing heritage has independent fishmongers, coffee houses and delicatessen. Lamorna harbour is 3 miles away. The famous Minack Theatre is 3 miles away and overlooks beautiful Porthcurno beach with its amazing turquoise sea. The renowned Telegraph Museum is here too. The renowned surfing hotspot of Sennen is 3 miles away, and why not visit Land’s End for sunset? St Ives is less than half an hour’s drive. The Eden Project, Hangloose zip wire, the aerial trekking course and giant cliff swing are all just over an hour away. We have buckets and spades you can borrow. You can book surfing lessons at Sennen, and hire bikes in Penzance. Further afield is the Lizard Peninsula, the most southerly point of the country. Along the way are plenty of coastal walks and coves including pretty Cadgwith Cove and stunning Kynance Cove. We have a private drive for your car. If you bring two cars the second may be parked on the private road to the left of our gates as you face the property. If you are walking the coast path and need to drop your car off at a different place, we can be your taxi service for a reasonable fee. Whilst you could walk to the coast, and join the southwest coast path, if you want to make the most of your stay then a car is handy. If you arrive by train, schedule permitting, for a reasonable fee, and depending on the number in your party, we may be able to pick you up from Penzance station. There is the Land’s End Coaster a clockwise & anti-clockwise circular bus route covering many of the south west peninsula’s sites. There is a stop for this very close by. We are as environmentally conscious as we can be, and try to tread as lightly as we can; making minimal impact on our environment. We ask guests to recycle wherever possible. We also ask that you turn off all lights and all electric radiators when leaving for the day. To minimise consumption of plastic, we don’t provide cling-film, tin foil or complimentary take away plastic single-use toiletries. But, should you have forgotten anything, we may have a supply of spare toiletries to borrow. To avoid disappointment, we respectfully request that guests don’t make any requests to use our private accommodation or rear garden.
