Studio at Abundant Life Farm
500sf Studio. Attached to residence on 5 acres of old farmland (ongoing renovations). Northern Views of the Foothills, gravel road for 1-mile in/out. Rise and shine with the Roosters. Take a walk down the country roads, see Goats, Horses, and Sheep. Note: roosters and farm dogs make noise every morning. Guests are responsible for cleaning up the space (leave it as you found it, we provide cleaning supplies) upon leaving. **Storms: please come prepared for inclement weather. Living area includes a queen bed (murphy bed with 10" mattress) and spacious wall closet. Bathroom has a tub/shower. No laundry facilities on site. Internet is included. Bed & kitchen linens will be washed per reservation, or weekly for longer terms. No daily maid service is available. The Spacious Kitchen is equipped with the basics for cooking; pots, pans, flatware, utensils, wine opener, french press coffee maker, microwave, mugs, glasses, plates/bowls, gas range, small apartment-size refrigerator, and a small dining table and stools. Drinking water is well water and is very good. There is a small outdoor deck with a table & chairs for outdoor dining, reading, or just enjoying the northern view. No Smoking inside or out, and no open flames at any time. One off-street covered parking space. Luggage can be stored if needed. Exercise equipment is available. There is also a seasonal fruit and vegetable store nearby and a seasonal restaurant for pie/coffee, and excellent lunches. Guests are welcome to meander around the acreage, but consider wearing boots or sturdy shoes. The dirt road is a nice way to walk the neighborhood and see the farm animals. You may also see deer, rabbits, hawks, a fox, and possibly a coyote or even a bear or mountain lion. I live upstairs, work from a home office, and will be around [the house and yard off and on]. I may not be available during the weekdays, but please text if you need anything and I'll see how I can help. Please don't knock on the front door as I may be on a phone call and my dog will start barking. Knock for emergencies ONLY, which are health and safety issues, fire, and things like over-flowing toilets. Close to Rollins Lake, Montolivia Winery & Happy Apple Kitchen, 5 miles from Colfax and Interstate 80, about 5 miles to Empire Mine, 10 miles of beautiful winding road to Downtown Grass Valley and another 2 miles to Nevada City. The Studio is 1 mile down a dirt road, just off of Lower Colfax Road. Our internet is generally sufficient for streaming video, but has ocassional drop outs that last about a minute. We have battery backup for WIFI that will last about 7 hours during power outages. Cell phone service is generally good with AT&T and Verizon. Car, bike, or walking. The corner store and post office is about 2 miles from the studio. Nearby, Lower Colfax Road is well used by road-bikers, but only suggested for seasoned bikers. Enterprise Rent A Car will pick you up here if needed. Power outages longer than 2 days, will allow for cancellation, but you will be responsible for relocations costs. Additional information for storm preparedness: Bring battery operated lights. IMPORTANT; NO FLAMES OF ANY KIND ON THE PROPERTY. THIS IS HIGH FIRE DANGER AREA AND THE BURDEN ON HOMEOWNERS IS GREAT. ALSO; we have occasional planned power outages (during summer/fire seasons) and have no control over when the utility will do this, but it occurs during high wind events. We will help you plan for this and provide no refunds during these situations, but would like to help you be as comfortable as possible. Also, there are dogs (protection from large wildlife) on the property. No other dogs, cats, or other pets are to be brought onto the property at any time.
