Winehouse Casamandula
The season starts again in april 2017 once the almond trees are shining white... Silent vacation on the slopes of a vulcano in a loveley renovated Winehouse, in the middle of the vineyards of the Nemzeti Nationalpark. Unique panorama of Lake Balaton and valley of vulcanos, below the mystic ruins of Csobànc castle. An outstanding place of peace and pure nature... The remote winehouse (ideal for a couple) offers a rustic kitchen with fire wood oven and a winecellar in the basement. (winetasting of Kenric`s latest harvest possible) The first floor offers a small, but cute bathroom and an extendable couch made for two little kids or one adult), and a living room with a big doubble bed (180 X 210 cm) and a fire wood oven. We offer hot filtered rainwater for showering (no drinking water) powered by a gas boiler, solar energy, hifi music tower plus CD-collection and internet connection. Towles, bedsheeds, pillows and blankets are included. The lovley tuscan-like rolling landscape offers activities like hiking, cycling, paragliding on top of the Csobanc vulcano, horse riding, sailing, regional wine tastings and lots of sun bathing at the beaches of lake balaton (distance approx. 6 kilometers). Information for that you will find in a folder on the desk. Within the distance af one kilometer you reach Gyulakeszi where you can find a grocery shop, post office, bar, and bus station from were you can take the bus to lake Balaton or elsewere. In Tapolca (3 k) you will find nice restaurants like Gabriella, Pura vida, Peppino, big supermarkets like Tesco, cafés, a nice cave to visit, and a disco. Csamandula is closed in winter and will reopen the 14. of april 2015 Guests have exclusive private access to the whole winehouse Casamandula, the terrace and the big wild garden. Behind the house you have a private parking lot. First floor and ground floor are connected by a outdoor stairway which can be illuminated at night. Casamandula is reachable by car using a half a mile long, partly steep, bumpy, gravel road. If necessary your car can also be parked 200 feet below the house in easy walking distance. If you drive up the road to Casamandula make sure you drive slowly giving way to those who come down. So far all the guests managed to drive up and down easily even under wet conditions. Renata or Kenric will meet you next to the big, yellowish church in Gyulakeszi in order to show you the way up to Casamandula. The poor and romantic road conditions are the "price" guests have to "pay" in order to enjoy the uniqueness of Casamandulas panorama. You will be mesmerized... Sometimes Kenric is staying in the house next door (approx. 50 meters away) in order to take care of his vineyard and garden. He won`t disturb your privacy. The terrace of Casamandula is remote, hidden and private. But If you should need help, have questions or want to talk or try a wine feel free to come. It is a pleasure for me to meet new people. We provide you with a map that shows you the way up to the stunning Csobànc castle (35 minutes walking time from Casamandula) or to the lower parking lot and other special places like the "ocean of vulcanic boulder blocks and oaktrees"... Csobánc is safe at night. Hungarians are friendly people. Means that no one has ever been attaced so far. But make sure the house and car is always locked. Otherwise something might be stolen. Within 10 to 15 minutes from Casamandula you reach the closest village Gyulakeszi by foot. If you want to go to Balaton or to nice restaurants I recommend the car. There are busses departing from Gyulakesi to Tapolca or Balaton. But they are a bit unreliable. There is no hotwater-boiler in the kitchen. No guest had a problem with that so far because water for washing dishes or for tea can be heated up on the gasflames of the cooking unit instead. We provide you with 1.5 liters of drinking water as a starter. More of it can be caught from a well in a distance of 600 meters. That saves money and plastic rubbish can be avoided. There will be a minimum amount of chopped up, dry firewood (and firestarters) in order to heat the house immediately. If you need more firewood, you have to chop it outside by yourself with an axe (you find it in the cellar) on your own responsability!!. Make sure you pile the wood up under the roof or even inside where it can stay dry. Try not to waste firewood and precious rainwater please. Neighbour Jennö and Ibi keep two free cruising dogs names Negro and Foltos. They bark once you pass by but they do NOT byte. Keep cool! You can bring your own pets if you want.
