You are very welcome to our “Schwyzerhüsli”, the lovely house in Oberwil - “Schwyzerhüsli” in Oberwil, 4 miles south of Basel - Spoken languages German, French, English, Spanish - Private cozy room with two beds - Free usage of kitchen and access to backyard - Your own private bathroom is upstairs - Free Wi-Fi, cable TV, and Washing machine - Enjoy complimentary breakfast inside, or eat outside and relax in the backyard - Easy shopping in our neighborhood (groceries, hairdresser, dry-cleaning etc.) - Excellent public transportation to any of the surrounding areas, with trams running every 4-7 minutes from a tram station that's a 4 minute walk away. Get to downtown Basel in only 12 minutes. - We can give you travel information, maps and recommendations Your private cozy room is on the ground floor with a south facing view of the yard. It is very well lit, and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It’s newly renovated, includes two single beds, two shelves, and a small table. You have access to wireless Internet and cable-TV. In addition you are able to use the kitchen and washing machine. The private bathroom with bathtub, shower, toilet, and sink is located on the upper floor. We provide Breakfast for you, feel free to help yourself! Enjoy your breakfast outside in the backyard in the morning sunshine. There is a table to eat, drink, and relax with some coffee or tea. It is perfect to calm down with a book in a deckchair. We have information and maps of the City, the greater metropolitan area, and all of Switzerland. Different cultural sites are nearby. The Basel Zoo (10 min. by Tram), City Center of Basel (12 min. by Tram), Exhibition Square (Baselworld and Art Basel) or the German Railway Station (25-30 min. by Tram). Favorite excursions are Mulhouse, Colmar and Strassbourg (F) or Lörrach und Freiburg in Breisgau (D). We are natives of Basel and can provide tips and insights to help you make the most of your Swiss experience! Oberwil, is located in the north-west region of Switzerland. It's a small town 4 miles south of Basel near the border of France and Germany. Our cozy home is in a safe, quiet, green area close to the center of Oberwil. Shopping in the neighborhood; There are many grocery stores, bakeries, a post office, banks, hairdresser, dry-cleaning, and restaurants within 4 minute walking distance. With the Mobility-Guest-Ticket (CHF 3.50 per day) you are able to use all public transportation in Basel and the greater metropolitan area. There are trams every 4-7 min. going to the City of Basel and elsewhere. After Booking I send you your visitor's pass. The Baselland Mobility Ticket and visitor's pass will be issued to all overnight guests subject to visitor's tax, staying in the cantons of Baselland (tax per person/night CHF 3.50). The Baselland visitor's pass allows you to use public transortation Basel and region for free and gives you discounted admission to over 20 cultural and leisure-time activities in the region. Public Transport System to Wehrlingasse 11, in Oberwil. From Euroairport Basel-Mulhousetake Bur NR 50 to Basel SBB, main station (13 minutes). From Basel SBB, main station, take the yellow Tram NR 10, direction “Ettingen – Flüh – Rodersdorf” or “Ettingen” to Oberwil. (18 minutes) (From “Theater”, a stop in Basel downtown, the same tram (NR 10) takes you to Oberwil (12 minutes).) You don't need a ticket, you use your visitor pass as ticket. Public Transport System to Wehrlingasse 11, in Oberwil. - From the Euroairport Basel-Mulhouse you reach Basel Main Station in 13 min. (Bus Nr. 50). From Basel Main Station the yellow Tram number 10, direction Ettingen – Flüh – Rodersdorf takes you in 18 min. to “Oberwil”. - From Basel downtown the same Tram number 10 takes you from the City Center, Station “Theater” in 12 min. to “Oberwil”. - After arriving in Oberwil by tram, it takes you four minutes to get to our house. 1. Follow the Tramway 25 meters until you reach “Bahnhofstrasse”. 2. On the “Bahnhofstrasse” turn right. 3. At the end of the block there is a trafic light. Cross to the other side of the street. 4. On the lefthand side of the big building “Raiffeisen” make your way up the steep narrow road called “Sonnenrain” . 5. At the end of this narrow steep way you reach “Wehrlingasse”. 6. Turn left and walk 30 meters and the house will be number 11 on your left. Arriving in car Drive on the freeway and follow the signs to Delémont, take the freeway exit to Delémont. Then take the exit to Bottmingen / Bruderholz and drive on this expressway, over the hill, till Bottmingen. In Bottmingen turn left, direction Oberwil.
