Ty Capel (The Chapel House) is a really special ‘premier’ holiday home with a hot tub. This former Methodist chapel, originally built in 1871, has been a real labour of love for the owners and now transformed, it offers a superb, contemporary holiday home sleeping 12 (with sofabed 14). There is private off road parking plus a lovely garden (rare for a converted Chapel). It's perfect for large families. ACCOMMODATION This magnificent mainly ‘open plan’ property offer very spacious accommodation, utilising the former chapel at the front and the vestry to the rear part, but unlike a number of other conversions, it retains many original features, such as the galley and feature ceilings. No expense has been spared to make your stay as comfortable as possible. All the furniture is ‘hotel quality’ bedding & soft furnishing that are beyond what one would expect in a boutique-style holiday home. There is a lovely landscaped private rear garden with hot tub and BBQ area to the sides. There's a bed settee for guests, a £35 supplement per extra guest applies. GROUND FLOOR Entertainment Room From the porch, you access a fabulous open plan ‘family entertainment/sitting room’ with the original gallery surrounding it and a stunning high ‘feature ceilings’ original chapel glass lamps, big stained glass picture windows, a huge wood burner and seating area. The flooring is laminate ‘oak effect’ throughout. There are: 2 x 2 seater settees 2 armchairs and 1 x 3 seater Leather Chesterfield settees Several coffee tables and side tables A ½ size snooker table Table tennis table 42” Pioneer TV with Freesat Blueray player Midi sound system Selection of books, DVDs, and games Kitchen/Dining area: There are big stained glass picture windows, a huge wooden table & 10 chairs, extra chairs are available. Also a sideboard and 2 leather Chesterfield armchairs in a small sitting area, plus an iPod docking station. Gallery Area: To the front of the Chapel, 2 set of original stairways lead to the original gallery area, which has been retained and restored and provided a lovely ‘chillout zone’ to enjoy reading and playing games. With original wooden pews & balconies, original glass lamps and a fabulous decorated ceiling, it’s a real credit to the owners that they have preserved this as a true original feature. Books and games are also provided in the elevated sitting area and there are seats all around the gallery. This area provides access to 3 further bedrooms. Bedroom 4 (sleeps 2) With original glass lamps and fabulous plastered ceiling, real oak King sized bed frame, 2 bedside tables, single wardrobe, 6 drawer chest of drawers, 24” TV, carpeted floor and big stained glass picture window. Ty Capel or The Chapel House is a really special ‘premier’ holiday home, located close to the town centre in Tywyn, on the edge of Snowdonia National Park and only a short walk to a sweeping sandy beach and the world famous Talyllyn Narrow Gauge Railway, which inspired The Rev Awdry author to write ‘Thomas The Tank’. Ty Capel is ideally situated for whatever type of holiday you want. Miles of sandy beaches and stunning walks are just a 10 minute walk from the Chapel. As well as this fantastic location, just down the road from Tywyn’s Blue Flag award-winning beach, the town centre with its independent shops, supermarkets, restaurants, pubs, excellent eateries, cinema and leisure centre with pool, is just a minute away. Surrounded by the Snowdonia National Park, if you're into cycling or horse-riding there are numerous scenic places to ride and the internationally-famous mountain-biking centre at Coed y Brenin is just 40 minutes away. This is a walker’s paradise with the Wales Coast Path passing along the sea front. For those seeking even more challenges, Cader Idris is just a 15 minute drive and Snowdon can be reached in just over an hour. If you're not the active type, then how about a ride on the ‘must do’ famous Talyllyn Railway, narrow-gauge steam railway right here in Tywyn? Also, Aberdovey Golf Club & harbour is only a 10 min drive. Tywyn has a sunny west-facing 'Blue Flag' sandy beach. Don't miss the spectacular sunsets over the bay. From early Spring through till Autumn, dolphins and porpoise can be spotted close to the shore, an amazing sight to see! Its not unusual to see them on a daily basis in pods of up to 20. Tywyn is possibly the only place on the West Coast where you can park for FREE virtually right on the beach. There is level access to the town where there are supermarkets, shops, bistros (you must try' Salt Marsh Kitchen' opposite the market hall) cafes, banks, a post office, cinema, health centre, cottage hospital, several churches, leisure centre and an indoor swimming pool. Just 5 minutes' drive is the picturesque harbour village of Aberdovey, with the famous Aberdovey Golf Course plus several good restaurants & pubs. For watersport enthusiasts and visitors with families, there are uncrowded, sweeping, sandy beaches in Tywyn or Aberdovey (just a few minutes away). Depending on the conditions, Tywyn is a focal point for surfers & kayakers. Tywyn's renowned 'Magic Lantern' cinema & arts venue is just around the corner. The main line train station is only 5 mins away as well as the world famous Tal-y-llyn Railway ( the world’s 1st preserved railway). St Cadvans Church in Tywyn dates back 1500 years, with the ‘Cadvan Stones’ which are apparently the oldest known inscriptions of the Welsh language. And the recently rediscover 8c ‘sun dial stone’ Aberdovey is a well-known wind surfing & sailing centre. Jet skiers are welcome in both resorts. Fishing trips can be arranged in Tywyn & Aberdovey all year round. This area is full of history dating back to pre-historic times. Just get slightly off the beaten track on the dozens of public footpaths and you will come across standing stones, stone circles, abandoned farmhouses, castles & ancient churches.Places within a just few miles NOT TO BE MISSED:Aberdovey, lovely old fishing village, GOLF & SAILING haven, with many good restaurants, pubs & coffee shops. Dolgoch Falls, spectacular waterfalls and woodland walk, look out for fairies and witches!Cregennan Lake near Arthog, stunning location, with views of the Mawddach Estuary.The Barmouth Bridge, built by Brunel. You must walk over it and enjoy the Mawddach, then explore Barmouth, with excellent beaches and the harbour. There are good shops, numerous coffee shops & pubs. The Last Inn & Davey Jones Locker are particularly good. Cader Idris & Llyn Cau, most walkers agree is more scenic than Snowdon.The Bearded Lake above Aberdovey, mystical place of legends, with amazing view of the Dovey Estuary.The Dysynni River & reed beds. A wild life haven for, geese, ducks and herons. Fishing with a permit.Bird Rock. 500 years ago the sea came up to the rock, but the Cormorant still breed here. Also, look out for the ruined Iron Age fort near the top of the rock.Tal-y-llyn Lake, just beautiful!With all this and so much more, you can make a holiday to suit yourself. Trains and buses within a 5 min walk.
