The Ash Suite is an intimate queen-bed guest suite on the second floor of the house, with an en-suite bathroom and private staircase. Relax in the cozy platform bed with a hand painted headboard reminiscent of the iron gates of the south. This cozy room, in gentle teal and white, overlooks our large, beautiful property and the many Ash trees it is named after, and is the definition of contentment and satisfaction. Luxuriously soft linens, cozy robes and slippers, a flat screen Smart television, wireless Internet, temperature controls, and aromatic, and environmentally friendly toiletries round out your unforgettable stay in this welcoming room. Savor a mug of coffee while taking in the views of the property from your window, or watch a movie while relaxing in the soft bed. Whatever you are looking for in your stay with us, the Ash Suite will help you find it. Ashford Acres Inn Bed and Breakfast in Cynthiana, Kentucky is your perfect escape to the countryside. The newly renovated Antebellum Greek Revival bed and breakfast offers five finely decorated guestrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, for your relaxation and comfort. Enjoy 24-hour access to snack and refreshment stations, and savor a scrumptious breakfast in our dining room or on our spacious veranda, overlooking the property. Guests can access their private bed and bathroom, the veranda, our sitting room, dining rooms, our famous front porch and explore our 64 acres of land! Annastasia, the Innkeeper will be available to you throughout your stay. The Lexington and Georgetown area offer much in the way of area history, but we humbly suggest that none is as architecturally beautiful, or as welcoming, as our historic inn. From the two-story tall Corinthian columns and the three-brick-thick walls, to the original plaster medallions in the sitting room and dining room, the history of Ashford Acres Inn is present in each room and all around the property. The Greek Revival style home of Ashford Acres Inn was built in 1858 by local resident John Williams. Williams built the house for his son as a wedding present, but when the wedding was abruptly called off, the house went to his daughter, Caroline, who was married to Cynthiana sheriff, R.T. Lindsay. A story has been passed down that during the Civil War the house was used as a hospital for wounded soldiers, and while Caroline was standing in the east bedroom on the second floor, a cannonball shot through the front wall and out the side wall. Between 1865 and 1941 a number of different families resided in the house as originally built, until 1941 when the Owen family purchased the property and fully renovated the house. They added the columns, a dining room, and the veranda, and painted the house white. Much of the beauty of the house that you see today is due to the renovation work performed by the Owen family. We have a large onsite paved private parking lot for our guests. Please see Welcome Packet upon arrival.
