This historic building is just 2 blocks off the main drag, so lots of opportunity to explore downtown Ely on foot. Half a mile to Whiteside Park, 1 mile to Semer's Beach on Shagawa Lake, and 2 miles to the Wolf Center and Hidden Valley Bike Trail System. ***Please note that you must climb a flight of stairs to this 2nd floor apartment. This 2 Bedroom/1 Bath is fully furnished to be your home away from home. A fully-equipped kitchen means you can cook at home, if the wait at the nearby eateries is too long. In the apartment, you'll find luxury, eco-friendly bath products, Brooklinen and Pendleton bedding, CuddlePedic brand memory foam pillows (ask us for details, if you liked them), and several books on the local history, as well as a variety of board games. Parking is limited on 2nd St, but just around the corner, there is ample free parking on Harvey St. Pursuant to Ely City Ordinance, calendar parking is in effect from November 1st to May 31st (unless lifted earlier). You may begin parking your car between 6:00pm and midnight for the following day. If the following day's date is an: ODD DATE -then park on NORTH side of street and WEST side of avenue (on this side all house numbers are odd) EVEN DATE -then park on SOUTH side of street and EAST side of avenue (on this side all house numbers are even) We will be available via airbnb message, phone, email, and (Hidden by Airbnb) , but are often traveling ourselves, so we may not be physically present. The neighborhood is downtown Ely. Steeped in mining history, walk a few blocks to the Ely Folk School, fully restore Historic State Theater, or Wintergreen's Dog Sledding HQ. Many of Ely's best dining options are mere steps outside the door. While you'll be able to walk everywhere downtown, you'll want a car to get to the nearby trailheads and boat launches. As of now, Ely's public transportation system is pretty non-existent. Absolutely no smoking inside the apartment. If you do smoke, please step outside and be sure to dispose of your butts respectfully.
