Cute and characterful old house in the heart of old Capena. Generously sized, well-equipped space in peaceful alleyway with Italian village life unfolding outside your door. Few minutes' walk to essential shops and restaurants Feel part of the local community in a well-restored, characterful and comfortable little house with open beams upstairs in friendly, laid-back medieval town centre 45 minutes from central Rome. Casa Marconi backs onto porous tufa rock and is kept naturally cool in summer and centrally heated in winter, with wifi and free parking nearby. It has lots of great reviews and is ranked excellent (5 stars) on TripAdvisor. The open-plan kitchen/dining room has a fitted kitchen area with hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave and dining table. There is also a sofa bed. The roomy upstairs space has a double bed plus double sofa-bed, flat screen TV, desk, wardrobe and chest or drawers. The separate bathroom has toilet, bidet, sink and shower. Casa Marconi allows easy access to Rome by public transport every day except Sunday. If you have a car, you can visit all the wonderful, unsung sights of Lazio. When you get home, you can relax and go to one of the great local restaurants for wonderful food without a tourist menu in sight. When you book, you'll be given plenty of information on getting to the house, getting to Rome, local restaurants and shops and off-the-beaten places to visit. Capena is unique in allowing you a peaceful, friendly retreat after a hard day's sightseeing or simply an opportunity to hang around being a local. There is a free car park about 3 minutes' walk from the house in Piazza Paraterra below Piazza del Popolo You can easily reach Rome by public transport in 45 minutes. If you have a car, you can visit the nearby Sabine Hills, Orvieto and a host of other places. Even Florence is only 2 hours away. You will find the house clean when you arrive and we clean the house when you leave. If your stay is one week or less, a small fee of €50 is added to cover this. This fee may be waived if your stay is longer than one week. We may ask an extra fee for cleaning if there are more than two guests. If you would like to arrange extra cleaning and/or laundry during your stay, there are three options: 1. you can arrange to have this done by the regular cleaner and pay her in cash. She charges €8/hour for cleaning and ironing.
