This working farm is half way between Inverness and John O'Groats, overlooking the village of Brora & right on the North Coast 500 (NC500). Clynelish Farm will provide the perfect place to lay your head, relax and refuel. This historic farmhouse was built by the Duke of Sutherland in 1865 and we have maintained the traditional feel whilst providing clean and comfortable surroundings. We are right next to Clynelish Distillery, 10 minutes from Dunrobin Castle & less than a mile from Brora village where there are several places to eat and other local amenities. We are surrounded by our farm land and the thick walls and shutters are a great recipe for a good, quiet nights sleep. We have top quality cotton bed linen and towels and everything to make your stay memorable for all the right reasons. We pride ourselves on the standard of our breakfasts - using quality local ingredients where possible and our own eggs (check the reviews!) The village has a pub, restaurant, chippy, Chinese and Indian, so plenty of choice for a Highland village! Brora beach is a mile of yellow sand, with a footpath winding its way from the harbour, up the river to picturesque Loch Brora. We run sheep and cows as our main business and are happy to discuss our commitment to environmentally sustainable food production. As we are a traditional B&B, there are likely to be other guests staying here too. All bedrooms are located upstairs. There is a large and comfortable sitting room with a TV & open fire where guests can relax after dinner and help themselves to a local dram or G&T. There are also BBQ and outdoor facilities available on request. Plenty of parking space at the front of the house. Depending on what's happening on the farm I can be in and out a bit - feeding lambs, moving cattle, helping with shearing - it never seems to end. Happy to leave you in peace or answer any queries you have about the area, house or farm. I will be around to check you in, light the fire in the evening and cook your breakfast - but won't intrude on your space. Situated right behind Clynelish distillery about 1/2 mile from the main A9. Rolling farmland with mountains and glens in one direction and the North Sea the other way. Best to have a car or at least a bike. Trains and buses run North to South 3 times a day. Local taxi available. We have most things to make your stay easy - Wifi, shampoo/condititoner, haridryers, electric blankets, tea/coffee in rooms. Please don't hesitate to ask if you need anything else :)
