Stunning, artist-designed home surrounded by nature and centrally located to nearby cultural hubs and fine dining in Northampton and the Berkshires. Private apartment designed in the Arts and Crafts tradition accommodates 4 people with two bedrooms. Stay includes full access to 8-acres of enchanting healing sculpture gardens with fire pits for nighttime use. The apartment consists of a two-bedroom, two-story apartment with private entrances, attached to the owner’s home. The first floor includes a period kitchen, living room, bathroom and first floor "garden" bedroom. The second floor consists of a spacious bedroom and sitting area furnished with a queen-sized bed with soft linens. The decorative features of this bedroom include antique fretwork, interesting art, stained glass, and a skylight that frames the stars. Included in the apartment rental is day and evening admission to Three Sisters Sanctuary for our Airbnb guests. The Sanctuary is a place of healing and inspiration. It consists of seven outdoor “rooms”, which include over 200 standing stones, water gardens, sculpture, the Dragon’s Den, and a stone amphitheater. The Sanctuary is a venue for creative arts and events and can be rented with the apartment. Richard M. Richardson has owned the property since 1973 and is also the proprietor of the Good Times Stove Company located on site. It houses New England’s largest stove museum and showroom. Apartment conveniences include: flat-screen TV, wireless internet, and cell phone service for most providers. The kitchen is fully-equipped including coffee maker with coffee provided and toaster oven. For those planning to cook please note the refrigerator is a dorm size. Window air conditioners and fans, as needed seasonally. Iron and ironing board, hairdryer. Quality linens included in rent. Superhost Richard M. Located in the Town of Goshen, Massachusetts where the Pioneer Valley meets the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains. The town has a rural atmosphere, with one general store, a post office, a fire station and a town hall. The town encompasses both the Upper and Lower Highland lakes, Upper being a part of the D.A.R. State Forest. In addition to Three Sisters Sanctuary and Good Time Stove Company Museum and showroom, guests will enjoy exploring the D.A.R. State Forest, an abutting 3500-acre conservation area that provides walking trails and a peaceful lake. The space is located within 10 to 30 minutes of the Five College Region (Northampton (Smith College) Amherst (Amherst and Hampshire College, University of Massachusetts at Amherst) and South Hadley (Mount Holyoke College) A vehicle is a must. Parking is included. Countless year-round opportunities to enjoy nature in the immediate area with skiing at Blanford Ski area, Ski Butternut, Berkshire East, miles of trail walking and lakeside swimming next door at the DAR State Reservation and rivers to explore with Zoar Outdoor Adventure Resort. Located near several hubs of arts, culture, and adventure between the Pioneer Valley and the Berkshires, and is the perfect place to stop on a trip to Vermont for skiing or sightseeing. Northampton (the “5 College” area) and scenic Shelburne Falls are an easy 20-25 minute drive away, and a trip to the expansive Mass MoCA art museum takes just over half an hour. Free museum passes to many prominent museums including MassMoca, The Clark and Norman Rockwell. This space can be enjoyed in all four seasons.
